In this lesson, we are just going to be setting up our project bit. We're going to be importing some of the assets we need as well as setting up our folder structure. If you are using the included project files that come with the course, then you can skip over this lesson, but this is just going to explain a bit about the folder structure and some of the assets we are going to be using inside of this project. So, to begin, you might notice that there is a folder already called scenes and this gets created automatically with newer versions of Unity, and inside of that we have the sample scene. This sample scene is just like the default scene Unity. It has a main camera and a directional light, but for us, we don't really need this, we only need two new scenes, and these scenes are going to be the game scene and the menu scene. Now, to create a new scene we can just right click down here in the project, go create and scene, and we are going to be calling this one game. And in the game scene, this is just where we are going to have basically all of the gameplay for our game. Wherever we can move around, jump, kill enemies, that sort of stuff, that is all going to be inside of the game scene. With the sample scene here, we can actually delete this as we won't be needing it anymore. So you delete that and then just double-click on the game scene to go into it. Do we want to save the sample scene? No, we don't, so we'll just click on don't save, and now we're in the game scene. The second scene we need and the final scene is going to be the menu scene. So, let's right click, go create, create a new scene and this will be called menu. Now, our menu in this game isn't going to be too complex. We're not going to have a bunch of options to change the resolution or anything like that. We are just going to simply have a play button and a quit button. Okay, and now that we have our scenes done, let's go back to our main assets folder here and create the rest of our folders. So, next up, let's right click and create a new folder. And this one we are going to call audio. Now in our game, we are only going to have our two audio clips that we will be implementing. You can of course include many more if you wish or include different ones if you have your own custom audio clips you want to include in the game, you can. But, included in the project files are going to be a pickup sound effect and a weapon shoot sound effect. Now, we can go back to where assets are, main folder here. In this lesson we are gonna continue on with learning materials inside of Unity. In the previous lesson, we created a red material for our little play here. We then created a metallic sphere, which reflects the environment. And we also created a plane here with a texture and normal map on it. So, in this lesson, we are gonna be going over emission and transparency. Let's start with transparency. So first of all, I'm gonna select this sphere here, and press Ctrl + D to duplicate it, and I'm just gonna move it off to the side here. Maybe move it down a bit as well. And what I'm gonna do then is create a brand new material here, so I'm gonna right-click in the project window. Go to create, material, and I'm gonna call this one our 'TransparentMaterial'. I can tell drag and drop that on, and first of all what I'm gonna do is change the rendering mode of the material. As you can see right now, it is set to opaque. So this means pretty much we can't see through the object, it is a solid object. We can click opaque, and we can change this to transparent. Nothing has changed yet, because we actually haven't changed the alpha value, which determines how transparent it is. So we can click on the albedo color here, and just change the alpha value. At the moment, it's at 100, so it's 100% visible, but we can then move that down, and as you can see, we can slowly begin to look through our object. If we that to zero, then it's not at exactly invisible, and that is because the transparent rendering mode is a bit different than what you might want. And what you might want is actually the fade mode which we can select here. And that means that if it's at 0%, it's totally invisible, yet at 100% it's totally visible. So we can put that probably about maybe 50, we can put it about there. And what we can do then is, let's also change the color to something, we'll make that maybe a blue, and yeah. As you can see we have our transparent object. We can see through it, we look at different things. And also, the shadow is transparent as well, or translucent actually. It's less bright than the opaque objects. Now, let's create an object with something called emission. Inside of Unity, lighting is basically what illuminates the world, and right now we have our directional light up here. So it is here emitting light. Now, this directional light isn't based on this position here. In fact the directional light, doesn't matter where we move it, it doesn't change. And then add things like labels on the axes and the title, but before we do that there's one quick thing that I want to mention and that is that there are a couple different ways we can view these plots. So, the two ways is, one of the ways is what I showed was when you run the plot then it will display up in a separate window. That's one of the ways and the other way is you can actually have it displayed in the IPython console. Sometimes it's better if you're working exclusively with IPython, and you just want to see the plot immediately. You don't want a separate window, or anything. So, those are, kind of, the two big ways that we can view these plots. And if you want to go in between them we can change a value in the preferences of Spyder. So, want to head over to Python preferences. And then, this preferences will open up for the Spyder preferences and you want to go to IPython console. Go to graphics. Then I have mine set to automatic and automatic will create a separate window and will allow us more interactivity with the plots. So, when a window shows up, those buttons at the bottom that you use to navigate around, if you do inline then it'll show up in the IPython console, but you won't be able to use any. There won't be any buttons for you to mess around with. So then, depending on what you want, you can change this backend. And you have to make sure you quit out of Spyder and restart it, basically, for this to work. Okay. So, now that we have this, let's get over to making our chart look a bit better. So, one thing anything we can do, is add a title. So, we can have a function on plot called title, that I can add and you can look at the documentation for, there's a bunch of other arguments that can go with this, but we will look, we will just say let's give it a simple title. So, number of fruit sold, 2017. And so, we can run this and see the title. Next thing here, here in the figure that shows up we have the title at the very top here. There're other configuration options as to where do you want to put the title. And if you go back to matplotlib.org and click on the pyplot button and scroll down, there will be a function called title you can mess around with. So we have that nailed and so the other we want to do is, set a title, or an axis label for the y axis. So we can do that. There's another function called ylabel, and that will label the y axis for us. So I can say, number of fruit, and this will be in the millions. So we can run this.
