In this video I suggest ways in which money poured into the NHS is wasted. Please post your response, suggestions, feedback, or corrections below and share this video with people who work in the NHS so that they can share their opinions.
National Health Service Wasted Money - 21 examples of inefficiency, fraud, and theft
Here is a list of 21 ways in which the NHS budget is wasted through inefficiency, fraud, or theft.
1. Consultants paid thousands for weekend work ("NHS paying locums up to £4,000 for a day’s work" - The Times, February 2017).
2. Agency nurses paid excessive daily rates.
3. The protectionism of middle managers who take a salary but contribute little of value ("NHS hospital bosses given pay rises worth more than a nurse's annual salary" - The Daily Telegraph, January 2016).
4. Paying fortunes for drugs that should cost a fraction of the cost ("Providing paracetamol to patients in England cost NHS over £70M last year, official figures show" - The Independent, July 2017).
5. Outright and deliberate fraud (fraud costs the NHS £1.27 billion per year according to the NHS Counter Fraud Authority’s own figures).
6. Health Tourism (accounts for £1.8 billion alone, see fullfact.org).
7. Failed IT projects.
8. Over-treatment and over-diagnosis.
9. Contracted management consultants who give no value for money.
10. Perks, expenses, and bonuses paid to staff well in excess of their productivity.
11. Theft from hospitals and other medical centres.
12. Self-inflicted conditions and associated illnesses e.g. obesity and illnesses it causes like diabetes, or drinking to oblivion (not including alcoholism).
13. Six figure ‘golden handshakes’ for departing executives and consultants.
14. 1990 Courts And Legal Services Act (Section 58) which creates an annual legal bill of £1.5 billion ("Save Britain from bloodsucking lawyers who squeeze £440 million out of the NHS every year" Peter Hitchens, The Daily Mail, January 2017). 15. Bills for private finance NHS hospitals under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). All but one of these deals was signed for under the Labour government between 1997 and 2010.
16. Loss of equipment lent to patients that is not collected or returned.
17. Money sent abroad to fund anti-smoking projects in other countries.
18. Missed appointments by time wasters ("Patients missing their appointments cost the NHS £1 billion last year" – The Guardian, 2nd January 2018).
19. Failure by the NHS to claim reimbursements from the EU for EU citizens treated in the UK (while paying £670 million for the treatment of UK citizens abroad
- "NHS 'Scandal' As UK Pays Millions To EU" - Sky News, March 2016). 20. Questionable job roles that soak up annual salaries. What value does a Diversity Officer, on twi

Why not?
Don’t worry about the outside weather as apart from power cuts, we fly when you want to.

Aviation Marketing: https://www.redspan.com/
It's Friday August 25th and here is Aviation Weekly #8. In this edition:
1. Jet2 begin a recruitment drive by announcing 1,700 vacancies in the UK.
2. Flytrex urban drone deliveries begin a service in Iceland.
3. Affinity Flight Training Services receives the first of five Phenom 100s.
4. The Atlas Pro, an autonomous drone with a 55 minute flight time launches in the US.
Hello, my name is Ben Lovegrove and here is this week's round-up of aviation news from high altitude to below 400 feet. Each week I bring you selected stories in the worlds of airlines, flight training, aviation history, drones and other UAV.
Head over to Redspan.com to find out how I can make marketing videos for your aviation business.
So chocks away then.
1. Budget airline Jet2 have begun a recruitment drive and are looking to fill vacancies for Pilots, Cabin Crew, and Ground Operations staff.
The airline wants to fill 180 pilot, 900 cabin crew and more than 700 ground operations positions.
400 of the positions are based at Manchester airport. A further 200 positions are in Scotland at Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.
Jet2 started operating out of Stansted and Birmingham airports this summer. They successfully filled the vacancies created by this expansion during recruitment fairs earlier in the summer.
Another recruitment roadshow hits the road this month and will be visiting several locations late in August and in September.
The roadshow for the Manchester vacancies at the Radisson Blu hotel at the airport on Thursday the 31st August.
So if you are looking for a new position or you want to start your aviation career then here is an opportunity to take that step.
2. Flytrex, the drone delivery company, has begun trials of an urban delivery service in Iceland's capital, Reykjavik.
Flytrex, a company based in Tel Aviv, Israel, claims this is the first operational drone delivery service. As we reported in a previous Aviation Weekly Amazon and others have filed patents for large scale delivery services. However, this is the first time a drone will start to deliver orders from restaurants and stores to customers in the capital.
The drone will deliver packages weighing up to 3kg and it will fly up to 2 miles to do so. The UAV will fly directly across a bay thus saving the time and the money it would take to deliver the same packages by road.
The project will begin with one drone flying about 20 deliveries per day but it's expected that more will be added soon.

Is Disclosure happening? Is the reality of extraterrestrials being confirmed?
In this video I explore the idea that Disclosure is already under way.
That is to say, the suggestion that we are already being told of the reality of extraterrestrials visiting our planet and interacting with us.
Forty-two years ago I went to see Steven Spielberg's film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Like many people then and since I was amazed and inspired by that film.
How many people, I wonder, left those cinemas in the 1970s with a renewed sense of wonder, looking up at the night sky (or as little of it as they could see past the light pollution of our towns and cities), wondering if they too would one day have their own close encounters.
If you've never seen that film, I recommend you watch it and if you've already seen it, watch it again.
The 1970s also saw the growth of the environmental movement and the exploration of alternative forms of sustainable technology.
We protested about the slaughter of whales in our oceans, pollution, nuclear power, and thermonuclear weapons.
As many ufologists are aware, ET craft have shown a keen interest in nuclear weapons and power stations.
According to testimonies collected as part of Dr. Steven Greer's Disclosure Project, UFOs disabled missile warheads and otherwise interfered with nuclear weapons during the 1950s and the 1960s.
Some say that it was the dropping of atomic weapons on Japan and the testing of such devastating weaponry since, that accelerated the interest of alien races in Earth, and which initiated the sightings that continue to this day.
It is said that we not only posed a grave danger to ourselves and our home planet, but also risked severe damage to the galactic web which connects all things.
In the four decades that have passed much has changed.
The Cold War ended and there are far fewer thermonuclear weapons. The hole in the ozone layer is getting smaller since we stopped releasing CFCs into the atmosphere.
Alternative technology has moved from the fringes to the mainstream, and we know that we must stop using fossil fuels.
The Internet and the world wide web have emerged, and this has not only given us the means to share information quickly and without government control, but it's also given us a clear example of how a network can connect all things.
The Web, our very own cyberspace, is a reminder of the similarities between ecology, the interconnection of all life on Earth, and the idea that the solar system, galaxy, and the Universe exist in a v

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls
This video is an appeal on behalf of all the missing American Indians, particularly the women.
Before I explain in more detail, let’s have a brief summary of why the plight of American Indians, or Native Americans if you prefer, deserves special attention.
In Europe, it’s often said that Jews are the canaries in the coal mine, meaning of course that if Jews are once again subjected to suspicion, discrimination, and abuse then it’s a sign that our collective moral integrity has declined to the point where we have to take urgent action to restore basic standards of decency.
You could say the same about Jews in the USA but I think a more accurate measure is the way in which American Indians are treated.
The history of the United States of America is widely known, but what is less well known is the fate American Indians after the massacre at Wounded Knee in the winter of 1890 which marked the end of the Indian Wars.
The events that occurred between the arrival of Columbus in 1492 and Wounded Knee in 1890 (and 1973) are long and complex, involving hundreds of tribes, many of whom have been wiped out completely.
You might have seen films like Dances With Wolves and while saddened by the story and its outcomes you might assume that there is nothing more to be said.
You may have heard of broken treaties, like the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868.
This was drafted after an alliance of Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Northern Arapaho under the leadership of the Oglala Lakota leader Red Cloud, successfully forced the US Army to abandon its forts along the Bozeman Trail.
The forts had been built illegally on Lakota, Cheyenne, and Arapaho land to protect settlers travelling through Indian territory to the gold fields of Montana.
Eventually, through sheer weight of numbers and pressure to protect settlers as opposed to treaty rights, more land was seized by force.
The Indian Wars continued, and eight years later a certain general by the name of George Armstrong Custer discovered that the Lakota, Cheyenne, and Arapaho were as strong as ever.
He met his fate at the Battle of the Greasy Grass, more commonly known as the Battle of the Little Bighorn, or simply Custer’s Last Stand, in June of 1876.
This military defeat and humiliation of the US Army was the catalyst for a chain of events that ultimately lead to the abandonment of all treaties and the total, and merciless subjugation of all native tribes.
The wars came to an end

Thoughts on Remote Viewing - What it is and what it can do
What exactly is remote viewing? Simply put, it is the practice of seeking impressions and information about a distant or unseen target using extrasensory perception or ESP. While it may sound far-fetched, the origins of remote viewing come from very real military and intelligence applications during the Cold War era.
In the 1970s, the CIA and other government agencies began funding secret programs that aimed to develop psychic abilities for intelligence gathering. They recruited civilian viewers who demonstrated strong ESP abilities and trained them using specially designed protocols and procedures. The goal was for these viewers to psychically “remote view” classified locations and gather intelligence data.
Over the decades since, declassified documents have revealed the surprising accuracy and success these remote viewers had even though the locations and targets were thousands of miles away and completely unknown to them. This suggests that the human brain is capable of tapping into an unseen realm of information that transcends space and time.
So how does remote viewing actually work? On a quantum level, everything in our universe seems to be interconnected. Remote viewing allows the viewer to extend their consciousness, almost like an invisible radar beam, to make contact with the energy of a distant target. The information is brought back in the form of impressions, images, feelings or thoughts.
Skilled remote viewers must enter an alert yet relaxed mental state, becoming open vessels to receive these impressions. Training helps viewers discern the signal from their own mental noise and analyze the data more accurately, almost like decoding the information. Peer-reviewed studies have confirmed that strong remote viewers can gather verifiable information to a statistically significant degree.
Skeptics argue that remote viewing is prone to error, illusion and false positives. Yet the declassified government documents demonstrate intriguing results that even intelligence specialists found difficult to dismiss outright given the high-stakes nature of the projects.
So could remote viewing one day become a common skill? With the right training and practice methods, many people show potential to activate and develop ESP perception. Perhaps one day we may better understand these abilities as simply a natural extension of human consciousness and awareness.
