We discuss these two popular weapons platforms. I feel both are excellent choices for personal protection. Which one is better? You decide. I feel every shooter must first define why they want a rifle and how it will be used. I'd bet my life on eiether platform as both are battle proven! ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYQ7o_z4CoQ
In this video we spend some quality range time with the new S&W Response Carbine. This handy carbine uses M&P or Glock double stack 9mm magazines.
We experienced good accuracy (for the shorter distances we were limited to this day on the range). We had good reliability with the exception of two stoppages. The stoppages occured when we were shooting 115 grain Blazer Aluminum ammo with a suppressor. We tried other factory and reloaded ammunition. This included 115 gr, 124, gr and 147 gr factory and the carbine worked without issue. Our shooting / breakin session consisted of various drills. Approximately 300+ rounds were fired. We fired standard capacity and restricted capacity magazines with out issue.
The ergonomics are excellent. However, the angle of the magazine well is different that other designs. Not bad just different. The felt recoil as minimal which is to be expected in a 9mm carbine.
We loved the ability to use the same ammo and magazines in a pistol and a carbine. Overall this carbine could be a great personal protection tool, PPC competition carbine or a plinker that the whole family can enjoy.
If you're looking for a PCC that is compatible with M&P and Glock 9mm magazines, the Response Carbine is a good option and one we'd recommend.
The Response Carbine, The Ruger PCC and the Foxtrot Mike 16" are three of mine. For those of you who enjoy a 9mm carbine that uses pistol mags, what are your favorites?

These are interesting times. I'm glad to see so many people exercising their constitutional rights to keep and bear arms. If you're new to gun ownership, you should also take classes and get training.
Unlike what is portrayed in the movies, there is far more to firearms ownership than the gun and ammo. The gun owner also needs to understand and practice firearms safety and proper storage. Again, if you're new to gun ownership, please get firearms training.
Bottom line, exercise your 2nd amendment right and the responsibility that come with that right. Stay safe!

Our thoughts on stopping the sales of Russian ammo importations. Like most law abiding citizens I'm frustrated especially given the tight supply of ammo in the USA right now. what are your thoughts?

Steel targets are great for training and especially good for rainy days when the cardboard gets soaked.

MidTed provided us a red dot optic for evaluation and testing.
This miniature 2 MOA red dot is targeted at the budget minded shooter. We found it it to be a decent and effective red dot for those not wanting to spend more the $50.
So far it's been riding a top of a Ruger 10/22 and performing as advertised.
