The Fuchsia City gym is a maze with invisible walls and ninja trainers all over. Keep interacting with the ninjas and see which is real. If you find the real one, you’ll battle Janine. Janine uses Poison type Pokémon. Crobat will use Confuse Ray to confuse opponents and lower their Defense with Screech. Weezing will use Sludge Bomb to attack and poison opponents then use Explosion when running out of HP. Venomoth will use Double Team to make itself harder to hit then Psychic to lower the target’s Special Defense. After winning, you’ll receive the Soul Badge and a TM06 (Toxic). Toxic will badly poison the target as the poisonous damage will get worse every turn.

Togekiss will use Air Slash to make targets flinch, Aura Sphere to strike without fail, and Extremespeed to strike first. Heracross holds a Flame Orb but getting the burn causes its Attack to go up with the Guts ability. It will use Night Slash for critical hits and Aerial Ace for never miss strikes. Rampardos holds a Choice Scarf to gain speed but can only use a single move. It will use Zen Headbutt to make targets flinch and Head Smash for massive damage but hurting itself as well. After the battle, you’ll unlock Area 7.

In Nacrene City’s museum, there’s a gym that has a maze of bookshelves. Each trainer will quiz you then battle you after getting the question right. Beat every trainer in the gym to open the way to the gym leader. Lenora uses Normal type Pokémon. Herdier will use Take Down for decent damage although hurting itself as well. Watchog will use Hypnosis to put opponents to sleep. After the battle, you’ll receive the Basic Badge and a TM67 (Retaliate). Retaliate will do double the damage if a teammate fainted the previous turn. Researcher Hawes will burst onto the scene notifying that Team Plasma has stolen some bones in the museum, including the Dragon Skull.

Giovanni is one of the Kanto Leaders in the Pokémon World Tournament that can be battled in either the Kanto Leaders or World Leaders Tournaments. Giovanni is skilled in using Ground type Pokémon. Rhyperior holds a Life Orb and will use Rock Blast to strike 2-5 times. Garchomp holds a Choice Scarf to gain Speed but can only use a single move. Nidoking holds Choice Specs to increase Special Attack but can only use one move. Gliscor will use Tailwind to speed its team up for 3 turns and Acrobatics with a Flying Gem taking effect. Hippowdon will summon a sandstorm with the Sand Stream ability and use Stone Edge for critical hits. A move like Ice Beam would be a good use for this battle.

Once you enter the deep cave of the Giant Chasm, Ghetsis will summon Kyurem. Just before Kyurem is about to make its move, Reshiram will emerge out of nowhere and disrupt Kyurem’s attack with a Fusion Flare attack. N and Ghetsis will clash until a scene of Kyurem breaking its icy wings will show. Next, there will be a scene of Reshiram battling Kyurem. Reshiram dodges Kyurem’s attempt of merging lasers until being captured and turned into a Light Stone. Ghetsis will then order Kyurem to fuse with the Light Stone and a scene will show Kyurem transforming after fusing with the stone. In its new form, Kyurem has merged with Reshiram. Ghetsis will order the trainer to battle the newly merged Kyurem.
