This is how a budget IP camera looks like, much lower in price to some of my recent reviews, but still packed with features. Good all around camera if image quality is not your top priority.
This is my first encounter with a mixed Zigbee and Matter hub. Offers both networks to be handled in Tuya, recuding the clutter of devices in our smart home. But the other interesting feautre that it turns itself into a Matter "source" and shares the Zigbee devices connected to it to Homekit, Google or Alexa. For this is the first way I can use Zigbee sensors in my Google Home network.

There has been a few smart plug in the Sonoff line-up, but with the S60 probably the smallest package is reached now. But in return all the functions of the POW Elite (without the screen) is also squeezed into this package: power metering, with all power protection, consumption notification and power related triggers for scenes.

I bought this model 10-11 years ago and used it with a borrowed RC kit before it got boxed up for about 10 years. Since I have an RC for the live steam trains, I got a new receiver, ESC, batteries to get her running again.

This video is my review of the LattePanda Windows 10 single board computer with a built in Arduino board. I got this product from DFRobot for a review, and I am planning to follow this up with further videos to look how LattePanda can be used as a Node Red server, use the LCD screen, sensor kits.

This is my first video of smart locks, or locks in general, and also first time I am using one. This model from WeLock works with fingerprints and RFID tags. I looks, feels great, scans the fingerprint very fast. Very solidly built product. The companion app has some nice features, but I find the lock history to be quite slow. You also need an additional Wifibox to access the lock remotely over the phone.

Not that I scratch built a single building, but I have been taking photos of buildings that I like. Than I realized that it is not too easy to remember a building from a bunch of photos taken months or years ago. But there is a solution. I found two very useful programs for this issue:
Microsoft Photosynth imports all you photos taken from a building and builds the 3D environment just be looking at the photos and trying to determine where the pictures were taken from and how the pictures relate to each other in terms of their respective position. This is all done without any user intervention. At the end you get a virtual 3D space where you can move around and observe your subject from all angles and locations.
AutoPano is a panoramic photo creation tool, and I use it to stitch detailed photos taken from a building facade and merge them into one high resolution image. It has some nice tools to remove distortion from the image and create a geometrically correct (?) image of a facade which can be traced to create plans.

This project been in my mind for the last few years, and finally I got enough time to go through the design hurdles and complete my the first PCB badge. And of course it had to be trains related.
