Still Report #724 - "UN Not a Friend of Freedom" Trump

Perhaps Donald Trump’s most memorable line in yesterday’s speech at the AIPAC conference was in regards to the United Nations: [insert] Do you realize how revolutionary a statement this is? No other American President has ever said anything close to this! This is a concept that America and the rest of the world has desperately needed to hear. This anti-nationalism concept has gone untouched since the U.N.’s founding. And with the coming collapse of the European Union, it is high time to re-evaluate this failed notion of world governance. Trump will now finally open a national dialogue as to whether we need the governance function of the United Nations.
My take is that although there are a few useful functions of the UN that should remain, most of it can be thrown out, but the world governance function is especially dangerous. That only favors consolidation of power – totalitarianism -in all its various flavors – socialism, communism, and now the worst of all - Islamic jihadism. As Trump put it: [insert]
But then Trump’s next line about President Obama got a huge response from the crowd. I’m Still reporting from Washington. Good day.
Good evening, I’m still reporting on politics.
It looks like it may be over for Hillary Clinton. After Sunday morning’s collapse of their party’s, nominee, Democrats seem to have had just about enough of the Clintonian albatross hanging around their necks.
The rumor mill along Pennsylvania Ave. is that a few top Dems met late Sunday to begin discussions that ran into today on how to replace Clinton, and with whom.
Shortly before she collapsed, Clinton was pictured with a woman – apparently a doctor – who was apparently conducting the “squeeze my fingers” test – which is a test for a stroke.
MSNBC’s David Shuster tweeted out late Sunday the news:
“Clarification from dem operatives @hillaryclinton pheumonia: Expect emergency DNC meeting to CONSIDER replacement #HillarysHealth.”
Late this afternoon, political commentator Karl Denninger of “The Market Ticker” wrote:
“Hillary's campaign is over, whether you or she wishes to admit it or not.”
“Trump is now effectively running unopposed and there is nothing the DNC or Hillary can do about it.”
Earlier today the British paper, the Daily Mail, quoted a former DNC chairman:
“It’s something you would be a fool not to prepare for,’ said Don Fowler, who chaired the DNC from 1995-1997.
“I think the plan should be developed by 6 o’clock this afternoon.”
According to the Daily Mail:
“The Democratic Party's rules allow for the DNC to name a replacement, but don't provide many guidelines on how the process is to be performed.”
Supporters of both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are said to be busy lobbying.
The only time such a switch in candidates has been made in U.S. history was in 1972 when Sargent Shriver was selected to replace Thomas Eagleton as George McGovern’s vice presidential nominee, after it was revealed that Eagleton had been treated for depression.
The Democratic National Committee Bylaws read:
“… a special meeting to fill a vacancy on the National ticket shall be held on the call of the Chairperson, who shall set the date for such meeting.”
All those who vote would have to be present to hand over their ballot slips in person – call it a convention if you wish.
The winner would be required to gain a simple majority. That implies multiple ballot voting if necessary.
Congress can push back Election Day, but since Republicans hold a majority in both houses, that’s considered highly unlikely.
Vice-presidential candidate Tim Kaine would be in the running to move to the presidential slot, but he gets no special consideration. It would be an unprecedented “anything goes” gathering.
Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are considered the top picks as both have national followings – but Bernie’s workers are more thoroughly engaged in the process.
Bill Clinton is forbidden from running again because of the 22nd Amendment – which prevents any President from serving more then two terms. However, Chelsea Clinton – his daughter - could take her mother’s place.
The age requirement for President is 35 years of age. Chelsea turned 36 on Feb. 27th.
JFK was the youngest president ever inaugurated at age 43. Chelsea would be 7 years younger than Kennedy on Inauguration Day.
As Karl Denninger wrapped up his commentary this afternoon:
“Go home Hillary. I know you believed you were "the chosen one", but it was not to be. You simply aren't in good enough medical condition to continue to run … much less serve, and the entire electorate saw that today.”
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.

According to an interview done with Laura Ingraham on Tuesday, former DC U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova says there is no way that the FBI will not recommend indictment of Hillary Clinton.
According to diGenova:
“The [FBI] has so much information about criminal conduct by her and her staff that there is no way that they walk away from this.”
“They are going to make a recommendation that people be charged and then Loretta Lynch is going to have the decision of a lifetime.”
“I believe that the evidence that the FBI has is so compelling that, unless [Lynch] agrees to the charges, there will be a massive revolt inside the FBI, which she will not be able to survive as an attorney general. It will be like Watergate. It will be unbelievable.”

First of all, a note on the story I put up late last night about the hitman arrested in Trump Tower. There is some disputed information in that story and it was just too late for me to get to the bottom of it last night, so in the interest of accuracy, I took the story down.
Somehow or another the story persisted on the Internet and now is pushing towards a quarter million views. I’ll get the correction story up later today.
Now, President Obama personally approved last January the payment of $400 million in cash to free four American hostages imprisoned in Iran. The day a private jet landed in Tehran with the cash, the hostages were freed.
President Obama announced the freeing of the Americans on Jan. 17, but somehow neglected to disclose the part about the $400 million all-cash payment – perhaps the largest cash payout in history.
From the first second I heard about this hostages-for-money with Iran I knew what it was. Why? Am I that well informed on international deal making?
No – because of one huge factor; either the Iranians demanded cash, or possibly the Obama administration insisted in paying in cash to avoid tipping the public and the media off to what looks more like a drug deal payoff then payment between nations in accordance with longstanding treaty agreements.
Because of US-led sanctions, Iran does have trouble obtaining western currency, but by far the most pressing use for currency is to provide that cash to its terror affiliates worldwide.
The cash was gathered from Swiss and Dutch central banks – probably all in Euros because any transaction with Iran done in U.S. dollars is illegal under U.S. law and we know our president wouldn’t have any part in that.
Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under President Reagan, John Bolton appeared on Fox Business with Stuart Varney and denounced the secret payment as absolutely a ransom.

According to a new analysis in yesterday’s Washington Times, Donald Trump is on track for a 1st ballot victory.
Going into today’s Indiana primary, Trump is only short a bit over 200 delegates to prevent the dreaded “brokered convention” hoped for by both Cruz and Kasich.
Oh, before we go on, a calming word to Trumpets nationwide; all those delegates that Calgary Ted is “stealing” only count after the 1st ballot. Cruz is working his evil deeds the only way he can – stealing delegates should the convention go to multiple votes. However, that ain’t gonna happen.
We first called Trump as “inevitable” the morning after his big surprise win in South Carolina on Feb. 20th. That’s because Beth and I were at the Trump rally at Pawleys Island, SC the day before and saw the enthusiasm on the ground, something that just can’t be captured by a brief TV news report.
Now the DC establishment is grudgingly coming around to the inevitability of the Donald. What odds could we have gotten on a $100 bet on Trump that just 9 weeks later, we would see this headline in the leading conservative newspaper in the nation’s capital?
The Times goes through the same analysis we have mentioned frequently in recent weeks concerning the direction of unbound delegates flowing towards Trump as his inevitability sinks in.
The Times quotes the count of former Republican National Committee Treasurer Randy Pullen, who predicts Trump’s delegate haul at 1,315 delegates by convention time.
We are still saying here at the Still Report that Trump’s 1st ballot number is 1407, 170 delegates more than needed for nomination .

With European markets set to open just 6 hours from now, the world waits to see which way it goes in Europe on Monday morning.
The European economy was already teetering and Germany’s future is suddenly in doubt with the devastating effects of the migrant Invasion suddenly coming into full view .
Germany is where a large portion of Europe’s wealth is created. Germany’s money has bailed out Spain, Italy and Greece. Without Germany’s support, the bond repayments of those three nations are suddenly faced with considerably more risk. More risk means sagging prices for those nations when they go to the debt market again, as is inevitable in a debt-based economy.
The only way the situation has been relatively manageable in the past has been based on its relative economic stability. However, there has never been a more destabilizing event in in post-WW2 Europe than this.
Markets hate instability and in a few hours the European markets may be tested like never before.
All of Europe’s eyes will initially be on China. Their market collapse will come under increased pressure on Monday from two new stress that were not present at the end of Friday’s trading: with sanctions lifted on Iranian oil, prices continue to sink to unimaginable levels just a few weeks ago. West Texas crude futures plunged to $28.60/bbl. and experts predict Monday’s action may see it go below $25.
Secondly, Taiwan just elected a new female president in a landslide victory that provided a mandate for Taiwan to separate from Communist China. China considers Taiwan a province and had a timeline for complete unification. Now the timeline has been scrapped as Taiwan voters want to move the other way.
The result, Japan is already in a Bear market as their stock market is down over 20%. And, according to one Japanese equity strategist quoted by Zero Hedge at 7pm eastern:
“It’s difficult to see the fall stopping today.”
The plunge in oil prices has brought worry to Citibank and Wells Fargo, two of the big 5 U.S. banks, because of their exposure to junk energy bets.
So hang onto your hats. The situation for Monday does not look good.

Good afternoon. I’m still reporting from Washington.
Love him or hate him, it’s over. Tuesday night’s debate sealed the nomination for Donald Trump.
It was Trump’s overall demeanor – finally Presidential. He was so sure of himself that he was more like a father figure among the other candidates.
He was forgiving of Ted Cruz and only Jeb Bush got him riled up, but that precipitated a devastating devastating counter-attack.
This was the pivotal moment:
[insert running as a Republican]
The vast majority of the other candidates know it’s true. Notice the deference Cruz gives to Trump.
[insert Cruz on wall]
Trump is unflappable to the point of being the only candidate who will even take on the moderators in these debates:
[Trump “It’s very sad”]
Out of pure desperation to break above the 3% mark. Jeb Bush tried to attack Trump with a well-practice line.
[insert Jeb 1]
Later on, Jeb tries to interrupt Trump.
[insert Jeb 2]
Trump then delivers a devastating knock-out blow to the former front-runner.
[insert Trump]
The crowd roared its approval.
Afterwards, Trump’s Twitter account posted an overwhelming list of polls that declared him the winner. Most interesting is that in one poll 50% of those sampled felt more positive towards Trump after the debate.
The next evening, Trump arrived in Mesa, Arizona and did a interview with Bill O’Reilly inside an airport hanger with 15,000 fans in the background.
His message in the last 10 seconds of this just breaks me up.
I’m Still reporting from Washington. Good day.
According to reports in both the Washington Post and the New York Times, Attorney General Loretta Lynch will announce today that she will accept whatever recommendations career prosecutors and the FBI Director make relating to Hillary Clinton’s “personal email server.”
According to the Times:
“Her decision removes the possibility that a political appointee will overrule investigators in the case.”
Interestingly, the Times does not mention Lynch’s stance on the myriad of other potential crimes that the Clintons could face, such as influence peddling at the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation.
According to the Daily Caller, Bill Clinton’s private visit to Lynch’s jet may have been to discuss a plea deal for both he, his daughter, and Hillary. Of course, this would imply that Clinton had been given classified information regarding the probable outcome of the investigation.
Bill Clinton has been a principle player at the Foundation – an entity that has taken in hundreds of millions of dollars of donations in what some charge is a pay-for-play scam.
Former U.S. Attorney Joseph DiGenova told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Bill Clinton:
“… is at least a witness in two criminal investigations, [and] probably a subject in two criminal investigations.”
DiGenova said that Bill Clinton’s meeting with the AG at a private section of the Phoenix Airport was a violation of Justice Dept. policy:
“Bill Clinton, according to the department, is a person of interest. What the hell is she doing meeting with a person of interest, no matter what the reason.”
DiGenova then implied that Lynch had lied about the circumstances of the meeting – a meeting all parties tried to hide from the public.
“There is no reason to believe her representation about what transpired in that conversation. The whole set of circumstances surrounding how they met on the tarmac, in a plane with no witnesses, is simply appalling.”
This is significant because Lynch has asserted that the meeting was a random, accidental event, despite rumors are circulating that the meeting was set up by telephone calls in advance.
DiGenova also noted that Lynch was first appointed by Bill Clinton to the coveted U.S. attorney post for the Eastern District of New York in 1999. This position oversees prosecutions of some of the wealthiest and most influential people in the world.
“All the more reason not to meet with him,” said DiGenova.
