[206] Keen on the importance of banks and Daley on how Apple can succeed
On Tuesday, Ebay announced that it’ll be spinning off its PayPal payment unit into a separate publicly traded company, giving in to activist investor Carl Icahn’s argument for a leaner company. The spin-off is slated to happen in the second half of 2015 after a 12-year run together. Erin weighs in.

Then, Erin talks to Alex Daley, chief technology investment strategist at Casey Research, to expand on Ebay’s news and Apple’s success. Alex says that Apple is still a cash king but that it has become a follower in the mobile space making its growth trajectory murky.

After the break, Erin is joined by Steve Keen, head of the School of Economics, History, and Politics at Kingston University, to hear what he’s teaching in his courses and what he believes are the most important macroeconomic concepts for the average person to know. His view: credit should play a central role but it doesn’t.

And in The Big Deal, Erin and Edward Harrison comb through the tech headlines surrounding Uber, Ireland, and Apple. Take a look!
