A Night Lights Dhow Boat Riding | Qatar tourist attraction
After our dinner, a simple but special birthday celebration of my beloved Kim at Souq Waqif. We decided to walk to the Corniche, the bay walk of Qatar.
When we arrived at this place, we settled to find a sit and everyone started chatting.
While we were all talking, a stranger pops up on our attention and approached us for only a 60 Qatari Riyals Dhow boat ride.
The price is much lower when compared to the usual price of 150QR for each person.
For that reason, we all agreed to take the ride, which added to the satisfaction of our sightseeing.
Dhow boats have a long history in Qatar and the Arabian Gulf region.
They were originally used for fishing and pearl diving and were an important means of transportation before the advent of modern ships.
Dhow boats are typically made of wood and have a distinctive shape, with a large, triangular sail and a long, narrow hull.
In Qatar, dhow boats are still used for traditional activities such as fishing and pearl diving, as well as for recreational purposes such as sightseeing and sunset cruises.
Many tourists enjoy taking dhow boat tours to see the coast of Qatar and the nearby islands, and to experience a piece of the country's cultural heritage.
