How to make an external NOAA Weather Radio antenna out of RCA audio / video patch cable

How to make an external NOAA Weather Radio antenna out of RCA audio / video patch cable.

An easy way to improve reception on any brand NOAA weather radio that has an external antenna jack with items found at thrift stores and or dollar tree.

Materials needed:

1 NOAA weather radio with a RCA female external antenna jack.

1 length of audio / video patch cable with RCA male connectors, the longer the better, a length 7 feet long was used in this video.

2 20 inch lengths of 22 to 14 gauge wire.

Electrical tape or any other tape.

2 small suction cups with hooks, or tape would also work.

If your NOAA weather radio does not have a external antenna jack, try wrapping a wire 20 to 72 inches long to the antenna of the unit.
