Hiking to marvellous Göttweig Abbey in Austria on a sunny day in summer. This is a monastery near the city of Krems an der Donau. It is beautifully located on top of a small mountain.
In this video, I walk up the hill starting at the town of Furth which lies at the mountains bottom. My way leads me through a nice forest. Parts of the path were quite overgrown so it was a little bit of an adventure for me. At the top of the hill I enjoy the view of the valley below me.
Next, I walk into the monastery where I check out the impressive baroque church of Göttweig Abbey. The Abbey was founded some time before 1072 and has a long history. It's vine yards also produce a fantastic white wine.
The Chinese city of Yichang experienced great economic development over the last years. As the city grows and becomes richer, the local government puts a lot of effort in making the city more beautiful. Part of these efforts is a new light installation called the light tunnel. It's a set of curved lamps with LED-lights that illuminate a walking path in a quite unique way.
This installation is right next to the city's central square. In summer, every day after nightfall hundrets of people come here to chat, play or dance.

Exploring the medieval church of St. Michael Village in the Wachau Valley. This fortified church was first mentioned around the year 987. It is located at a bottleneck between the Danube river and a cliff. In addition there are fortifications like walls and a tower which made the church a choke point for invaders.
In the video I walk around the surroundings of this medieval church in the Wachau Valley. After exploring the tower I visit the cemetery and take a look inside the church. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enter the church which also has a bone house that is home to an altar which has human skulls on display.
I hope you still enjoy this little trip on a sunny day! Check out this map showing the locations of all of my Video walks: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1JIZyQ5c26D0VwCHHwGKvnQ2w6_uUzqDv&ll=48.07809510471982%2C14.863358199999993&z=8

Hiking in Austria is a great experience. On this beautiful day in mid March I went to the Kurpark in Baden near Vienna, a nice mix of city park and forest. The park is mainly a spot for the locals to relax and enjoy nature. However, for visitors its also a memorable tourist destination.
While the lower part of the Kurpark next to the old town center has a traditional layout and is surrounded by many historic buildings, the other part features a natural landscape covered by forest.
If you follow the trails leading up the hill you will eventually end up at the Theresienwarte, a lookout tower overlooking the whole city. What's special about this place is that this hill is basically right at the edge of the alps. From here you have a fantastic view of the lowlands stretching to the east, all the way towards the border with Hungary.
So if you happen to travel to Vienna and want to experience some nice Austrian landscape without having to go to far, Baden near Vienna is a great place for a day trip. Whilen Baden with its rich culture and historic town center is great for sightseeing, the Kurpark offers a little bit of adventure.

Taking a nice walk along the Danube River in Austria. It was a quite windy day but I still enjoyed the scenery. Following the bikeway along the Danube River I came across some cyclists and families. The Bikeway connects the famous Wachau next to Krems an der Donau with Vienna.

Mountain hike in 4k: When every place is under lockdown, then one of the few things left to do is to take a nice walk in the mountains. Follow me on this virtual hike through the woods in Austria and experience the great view and calm atmosphere.
The mountain I am walking on in this video is literally on the edge of the Austrian alps. From here, you have a wonderful view of the lowlands that reach all the way towards the Hungarian border. But during this mountain hike my 4k camera did not just capture some fantastic views. Because spring finally arrived and the weather got warmer, a lots of birds are very active now. Listening to the relaxing forest sounds also made this trip a worthy experience. I will be back soon!

In this video walk I hike to Dürnstein Castle on a sunny Saturday in spring. Located in the wonderful Wachau Valley in Austria, the town and the castle are a famous tourist spot.
After following the road through the old town of Dürnstein, I take a somewhat hidden passage to get to the Danube river. Sadly, I couldn't access the town's famous blue church because due to ongoing construction works.
After that I follow the path leading up to the old stronghold. The hike to Dürnstein Castle didn't take very long, even though the way was quite steep. The amazing view over the Wachau Valley was well worth the effort.

In this video, I explored Rehberg Castle, an abandoned place close to the Austrian city of Krems. The castle's remains mainly consist of derelict walls and towers. The stronghold is not very big but it still was fun to discover its hidden secrets.
After walking around in the stronghold for some time, I followed a path that lead me into a nice forest. From there, I made my way to a vineyard.
