Log live the cabin life.
Today we are discussing The River of Love Cabins in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
These handcrafted log cabins are nestled in the bend of Love County's Red River in Thackerville. The cabins are located approximately 90 minutes north of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and just under two hours south of the Oklahoma City area, not far from I-35.
Stay at the River of Love Cabins and choose between the Red Bud Cabin, which includes a private outside hot tub, or the Green Briar Cabin, which contains a large indoor two-person Jacuzzi tub. Both cabins feature king-size beds and queen-size sleeper sofas.
Another overnight option is The Love Shack, which comes fully loaded and equipped with a queen-sized bed that hangs from the rafters. Additional amenities include a private hot tub, grill and hammock.
Guests may also choose to stay in The Love Train Caboose, an authentic 1949 Missouri Pacific train caboose that has been fully refurbished. The caboose features a full-size bed and is equipped with a hot tub on a large open deck complete with a porch swing. The most recent addition is the Creek-Side Cottage, which is equipped with two bedrooms and two baths. The Creek-Side Cottage also features a hot tub and a large hammock placed near the still sounds of the creek.
Each unit at the River of Love Cabins is equipped with AC/heat units, full linens, fresh towels, utensils and full-size kitchens equipped with appliances including blenders and toasters. Enjoy flat-screen televisions with DVD and VHS players, along with movies, a radio and CD player. Other amenities at River of Love Cabins include charcoal grills, rocking chairs, private hammocks, picnic tables and outside fire pits.
River of Love Cabins in Thackerville are located only minutes away from the WinStar World Casino, Dust 2 Dust ATV Tracks and Trails, Lake Murray, and many other local attractions. These cabins are secluded and include a locking gate, as well as plenty of space and privacy between the individual cabins.
They are perfect for romantic getaways, special occasions or just a little rest and relaxation. River of Love Cabins also offers in-room massages and picnic baskets with your choice of two menus. Prairie Artisan Ales is a small brewery founded in Krebs, Oklahoma. They were founded in 2012, and have brought a unique perspective to brewing. Originally, the buildings started as the High Gate Academy. After the closure of the academy, it was purchased and repurposed by local doctors and named the Oklahoma Sanitarium Company (This may be the creepiest Real Estate decision ever).
In 1915 the sanitarium was sold to the state and became known as Oklahoma State Hospital.
In 1952, he name was changed to Central State Griffin Memorial Hospital, and shortened to Griffin Memorial Hospital in 1994.

All aboard! Today we are heading to Muskogee for the Polar Express Pajama Party.
The Historic Roxy Theater and the Three Rivers Museum are teaming up to take you on a magical Christmas adventure and we have Angie Rush, the director of the Three Rivers Museum to tell us all about it.
The Polar Express Pajama Party in Muskogee is an exciting event that welcomes guests to the Roxy Theater where they will receive their golden ticket. While watching the Polar Express on-screen, Santa's elves will deliver hot chocolate served in a souvenir mug, cookies and a bag of popcorn. After the movie, you'll be transported over to the North Pole (Three Rivers Museum) for a photo opp with Santa, who will hand out special gifts to all.
Muskogee's Historic Roxy Theater. Originally opened in 1948 as a movie theater, the Roxy re-opened as a multi-purpose venue. Seating 300 people, the Roxy is a showcase for local talent as well as professional touring acts.
The Three Rivers Museum is dedicated to presenting the multi-ethnic history and heritage of the American frontier in the Three Rivers area in eastern Oklahoma where the Arkansas, Grand and Verdigris Rivers meet. The museum is located in the restored Midland Valley Depot in Muskogee.
Muskogee has always been a crossroads of cultures thanks to the three rivers that converge here. What began as a trading post became a destination for Native Americans who survived the Trail of Tears. Then, on Christmas Day in 1871, a General Grant steam locomotive puffed its way across the Arkansas River and Muskogee exploded.

Tulsa Regional Tourism is northeast Oklahoma’s premier accredited destination marketing organization. What About Bob Chuckwagon Races offers four days of exciting events like none other in Oklahoma. Held in Wilburton, the event features a concert and barrel racing on Thursday night, live music and pasture team roping on Friday, followed by chuckwagon races on both Saturday and Sunday.
Wilburton is a small town with a lot to offer. Tucked into the scenic San Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma, Wilburton is the home of Robbers Cave State Park, where thousands of visitors flock each year for camping, hiking, spelunking, boating, fishing, ATV riding, canoeing and horseback riding at the Robbers Cave Stables.
Rooster Days Festival in Broken Arrow, one of the oldest continually running festivals in Oklahoma, for a large carnival, a parade, live entertainment and more.
Broken Arrow offers both small-town charm and big-city amenities. Some of Oklahoma's most scenic natural areas surround the community, making it a top spot for outdoor activities, while its cultural attractions draw people seeking arts and entertainment, especially in downtown's Rose District.
The Okie Noodling Tournament and Festival is the event created for the documentary Okie Noodling (2001) that started it all. This is a once-a-year chance for noodlers and handfishing enthusiasts to compete and meet-up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for the world's largest noodling contest.
Pauls Valley is a hidden gem in south-central Oklahoma. It is known for it's thriving arts community, offering an array of museums and art galleries to visit right in the heart of the historic downtown area.
