Mike Davis (best known for books like "City of Quartz," "Late Victorian Holocausts," and "Planet of Slums") was one of the most interesting writers and theorists on the American Left. He passed away earlier this week so we're unlocking Ben Burgis's long conversation with Jacobin editor Micah Uetricht (originally released to GTAA patrons in early 2021) about Davis's life and work. Davis was a massive influence on generations of scholars, writers and activists. Rest in Power.

This won't be a regular feature going forward (although we'll probably still devote occasional episodes to movie stuff) but this one's been planned for a long time and it should be a good one. This Is Revolution co-host Jason Myles and "Toward Freedom" author Touré Reed join Ben to talk about John Carpenter's 1982 film The Thing.
