A rather cold and gloomy day today so we tried to brighten things up with a quick visit to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. We saw and live-streamed the First Ladies Dresses and also visited some of the big cars, trucks and trains in the basement, along with the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz. I also managed to catch a rare, combined motorcade with both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris heading out of the White House on their way to give a speech in suburban Maryland. Didn't make it to Marine One tonight, but it ended up being grounded anyway. Oh well.

Kind of a strange day in D.C. today, but that's what we call Thursdays. Marine One and Marine Two lifted off today, but we also had FBI helicopters landing on the J. Edgar Hoover building and US Army Blackhawks landing just off the National Mall with a team of agents onboard. Lots of wild stuff. Take a look.

PenguinSix is an apolitical guy in a political town who likes to walk a lot. He has hiked over 17,000 miles (27,000kms) in the past six years and is still walking today. He is an American expat who spent the last decade in Hong Kong with his family and is now back in Washington DC, continuing his daily ritual of taking very long hikes around the city catching the sights and sounds of the city while live streaming to share with others. History, culture, life as an expat (with reverse culture shock), and the pitiful Chinese food in Washington DC are regular topics of discussion. The White House was lit up orange last night for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. I didn't make it out there until very late so best I can show you is from my car window.

Today was a bit more normal for me, a helicopter in the morning, some planes for lunch and then we saw The People's Convoy again making their way around the Beltway. It added up to a lot of driving, but I did manage to get a pit beef sandwich which always makes things good.
