S2E79 Arby's Strawberries and Cream Fried Pie Review
This is a quick video where Ken does a #review of @arbys new strawberries and cream fried pies.
As Ken notes in the video, a friend of his asked him to do a review of @McDonalds McRib sandwich. . .which Ken declined because everyone knows its quality. Ken also was hesitant to do a review of Arby's new Diablo dare since @TheReportOfTheWeek already did a great review. So, Ken instead chose to do a #foodreview of their fried pie.
Arby's claims this dessert is made with real #strawberries. Does the pie live up to expectations, or will it be a giant flop? You've gotta watch the video to find out!

S2E12- Kayaking Trip To Maiden Voyage of Walmart Ozark Trail Angler 10 | My Kayak Testing
As Ken explains in this video, he goes with his wife on a kayaking trip to test out his Walmart Ozark Trail Angler 10. This is to give him a baseline assessment of how bad this kayak really is so that he can modify it with an outrigger device (video on that DIY project to come later).

Join Ken as he makes a country-styled pumpkin beer using the culturally-beloved Hispanic children’s soda, known as malta, as his base. Malta is a really good “cheat” or “hack” to make a quick and easy beer. Beer is culturally significant to American and Western culture.
In the video, Ken mistakenly used some wrong measurements, misstated a measurement or two, and had some fails (i.e., he said he used 1 cup of pumpkin when he used 2 cups, he said “lower pH when he meant higher pH for the Alkaline water). This is the correct recipe he should have followed. This is the correct recipe for his pumpkin beer:
KEN JOHNSON’s COUNTRY-STYLED PUMPKIN BEER
2 Cups Pumpkin Puree
2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar (Plus 1 1/2 Reserve)
50 (About 1 ½ Tbsp) Allspice Berries, Crushed
1 Cup Florida Orange Juice
1 Gal. 1 Qt. Water (Plus 1 ½ Cup Warm Water Reserve set at About 98°F)
42 Oz. Malta Soda
½ Packet Yeast (True British Ale Yeast is Preferred)
Carbonation Mix:
1 ½ Cup Slightly Warm Water (98°F)
1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
In a cup, mix together your reserved water and sugar with your yeast. Let it sit to the side. In a large 2 1/2 gallon pot add the pumpkin, brown sugar, orange juice, crushed allspice berries, orange juice, and water. Bring to a boil and reduce to about half. Add the malta and let simmer about three minutes. This mixture is now a wort. Sieve out the wort into a clean and sterilized gallon container (fermenter). Take the strained pulp and save for a different cooking project (pumpkin cookie recipe to follow in Part 3 of this video series). Add water, if needed, to bring up the headspace to about 3-4 inches from the top. Place an airlock on top of the fermenter. Let ferment for about 15 days at 69°F to 72°F. On day 15, mix together your carbonation mix, let stand about 15 minutes, remove your fermenter’s airlock, siphon the beer off into a cleaned and sterilized container being careful not to get the sediment. pour in your carbonation mix into the beer, stir well, siphon beer into bottles (leave about 1-inch headspace at the top of each bottle), and cap. Let sit for about another week before chilling and serving.

A while back, @kfred did a #cooking #video where he used a very unique , and #invasive, wood to #smoke his tasso made from #wildhogs.
In #Louisiana, this #invasivespecies of tree is commonly referred to as "chicken wood" (among other names) because it grows readily around chicken coops. In #Florida, it is known as "popcorn tree" for its fruiting bodies to produce a white fruit ball resembling popped corn. Elsewhere in the Southeastern US, such as #Alabama #Georgia #South Carolina and #Mississippi, it is sometimes referred to as "Florida aspen" due to the fact it is one of the rare trees to change colors in Autumn here in Florida...though it changes to a reddish-orange hue whilst aspen trees are known to turn yellow. However, worldwide, it is commonly referred to as Chinese tallow tree (Triadica sebifera) since manufacturing companies historically used the wax covering of the fruits to make soaps and candles.
The #popcorntree is a highly invasive plant that causes countless millions to get sick every year from allergies to the plant's pollen. The fruits and leaves are touted by many government agencies to be poisonous to people, though there often isn't any supportive evidence shown as to the active toxin(s) in question.
In his video, Mr. Frederick used this invasive wood to put a very beautiful smoke on his tasso. So, Ken decided to #grill some #chicken and see if this wood is worth using in an upcoming #smoker build. With #hunting season around the corner, Ken hopes to do a lot of #whitetaildeerhunting videos with smoked meats segments including #venison. So, is smoking with popcorn tree really worth the hype? We'll definitely find out!
Ken also made an offhand #business remark about #marketing. Please understand Ken has an MBA degree with diverse training in marketing, psychology, and customer dynamics.

Family is important. Can we all agree on that?
In this video, Ken gets a call from his mother. She is watching his niece and asked if he'd take them #mullet #fishing. Only having about an hour to fish, Ken obliged. Here, you will see three generations of Ken's family bantering, passing along the knowledge of fishing, and just making memories.

As Ken notes, this #fishing video was made in late summer and then it just kinda sat around for a while as "life" happened. The whole purpose of the #fishingtrip was for Ken to catch fish to give away to others. This is a #Southern #tradition to support your #community and it harkens back to the Native American roots many Southerners have where the community, and not the individual, matters most.
In this video, Ken was just going after "meat." There were no real expectations. He was not targeting #bass yet he saw them and cast at them. He was not targeting #bream (or "perch" as @PelicanBoneOutdoors would call them) or #redfish or #eithercatfish either and yet he attempted to take them. This is as about as Northwest #Florida a fishing trip as you will find.
Naturally, the unusual heat of the Deep South made this trip dangerous. Elements of this trip were not filmed where Ken was alone and in medical distress. The #heatindex or #realfeel #temperature was over 110°F (45°C) that day. Even with water and food, heat exhaustion became an issue. Please! Always heed the safety warnings of weather reporting authorities. No fishing trip is worth your life.
We're also excited to announce the channel is now airing on #YouTube, #Rumble, #Odysee, and #Twitch. If you are watching use on one of these platforms, please say hey to us. We'd love to hear from you!
