THE END OF HUMAN HISTORY--SEEING THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST & WHY JESUS RETURNS!
We have come this morning to the next doctrine in Revelation 6. We have come to the Day of the Lord & Christ's Centrality to Everything.
All of human history, all of God's Word the Bible, and the entire universe in which we live: centers upon Jesus Christ, God the Son.
Paul overflowed in wonder at Christ's glory in Romans 11:36 (NKJV) when he said:
For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Jesus Christ is Central to Everything in Life
This morning only as we allow Christ to be at the center of everything we consider, will everything make sense. Jesus is the only way to find meaning in life. Note what Paul says:
“Of Him”: all that has life, all that exists whether time, space, energy, or any form of matter is only “of Him”.
“Through Him”: the only way out of sins penalties is through Him; and the only way into God’s favor is “through Him”.
“To Him”: everything is headed for an appointment. To Him has been given all authority in the Universe and on Earth. All that matters is what anything means “to Him”.

The Door of Heaven: Standing Open. There have been many wonderful sights that people have been able to witness: the light from the first light bulb, the awesome sight at the launch of giant rockets into the sky, the glimpse of lost treasures in ancient tombs: but nothing anyone has ever seen compares to this.

Jesus Stretches Out His Hands to Us Today
He knows every detail of our lives, every fear we dread to face, and every weakness that can defeat us—so He can always help us!
Jesus watched you straining against the waves and storms of life this week.
Jesus saw all of your fears that you were sinking back into that sin that so easily besets you.
Jesus saw you knocked down by waves of fear, waves of doubt, waves of sadness.
Jesus saw that your boat was swamped with those waves, and you were sinking.
He sees it all.
Jesus wants you to cry out to Him from the storm, as you start to sink.
He wants you to say: “Lord, save me.”
Look back at what we just read:
Matthew 14:30-31a But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him,
Matthew 14:31b-33 and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
Have you said for the first time those words in faith to Jesus? That is the way of salvation.
If you’ve not, right here this morning you can reach out to Him in your heart, confess that you agree with Him that you are a sinner, and then reach out to Him and say, “Lord save me.”
He will. Anyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.
That cry to be saved is only the start. Jesus follows our boat through all the storms of life. He stays with us and will save us from sinking all through life.
He just waits for us to cry out to Him.
Look at another very special promise from God in Hebrews 4:15-16
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
How do you get this promised grace to help in time of need?
The same way: cry out like Peter did, saying, “Lord, save me”.
He will, it works, I’ve tried it over and over and over again in life.
When you feel the coldness of despair sucking you down into it’s blackness, cry out: Lord, save me!
When you feel the chains of lust starting to wrap around your mind, or the chains of fear capturing your emotions, cry out for help.
Say to Jesus, “Lord, save me”.
Sometimes we know this, we’ve heard this, but we have never done this.

Jesus said Paid in Full
Paid in full is what Jesus cried from the cross of His redemption as the work of salvation was once and for all time completed.
Paid in full is what He declares each time we come to Him confessing our sins.
Paid in full is what Jesus our advocate says while standing before God the Father as Satan the Accuser points out yet another time we have sinned.
Let me share an illustration of the “Big Three Doctrines” from youth ministry many years ago? The big three we need to always understand are redemption, justification, and sanctification.
1. We started life on earth as dead in our trespasses and sin (pictured by my pen laying on the palm of my hand); redemption is when Jesus reached down and bought us out of the slave market of sin (that is my hand grasping the pen);
2. justification is Jesus lifting me to be seated with Him already in Heaven, we are completely freed from the penalty and record of our sin;
3. sanctification is God forever binding our souls into His grasp and pulling us closer and closer to Him until at the end of our earthly life, He safely lands us into His Presence forever.

the-most-verified-prophecy-in-the-bible
We are in the midst of our What’s Next Series. We are studying prophetic Scriptures that are coming to pass just as God promised that they would.
This morning I want to look at the most frequently fulfilled prophecy of all. The one event that God promised would happen, warned everyone to prepare for—and yet it takes almost everyone off guard and by surprise.
That is of course death—and the judgment of God upon all who die in their sins.
Every second two people die somewhere on this planet.
Have you ever thought what happens just one moment after death? So that we would know and be ready Jesus instructs us in His Word. Open with me to John 8:24.
First, Jesus warns that the very worst thing that could happen to anyone is for them to die in their sins.
John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Next, He lets us know that death does not end life, it just changes the location. There is no cessation of conscious existence. Look with me again at II Corinthians 5:6, 8—
2 Corinthians 5:6, 8 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
This morning we will study the final truth Jesus speaks of most frequently. He lets us know that the dead awaken from the momentary rest of death in a very real, very painful, very different place. The first thing that they experience is the inescapable reality that they will now have to live with the results of their choices.
So every second over and over again the prophecy of God's Word happens. People face death alone. People face death in their sins. People face death in horror, pain, and the endless punishment their sins deserve.

There were two moments in history when it seemed that there would be an extermination of the chosen descendants of Abraham. Once was 2500 years ago, the other time was 58 years ago. Just briefly look with me at Esther 1:1; 3:8-14; 7:4 and then we will remember the dark hours of 1939-45 when it seemed that Hitler and the Axis powers might make it and defeat the Allies. Both were Satan at work!
Satan’s instrument of the hours from 1939-1945 was Adolph Hitler. Satan had found a man that would totally yield to him. Hitler's early life could be characterized by one word, "failure." He eeked out a meager existence by living on his dead mother's limited savings and an Orphan's Pension which came from his father's service in the Customs Department. His attempt at higher education was thwarted. He wanted to be an artist and so applied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. They refused to accept him because his sketches were not up to the standards they required. Next, he applied to the School of Architecture and was refused. Author Treavor Ravenscroft says "...unable to make friends, Hitler became day by day a more solitary and embittered figure."
To make a long story short, Hitler was angry at God and society because of his plight in life, therefore he rebelled against God and society. In his quest for power to change his plight young Hitler turned to the occult. He began by spending all his free time in the Hofberg Library in Vienna, Austria reading books on the history of the occult and Eastern religions. The occult seemed to offer the power Adolph was searching for.
Next came the discovery that changed Hitler's life and drove him deeper into the occult. What was it?
In that library there is an ancient spear, believed by many, to be the one used to pierce the side of Christ. Erwin Lutzer, pastor of Moody Church in Chicago says in his book The Antichrist's New Age Roots,
"One day when Adolph Hitler was in his early twenties, he overheard a tour group guide point out the spear to a group of guests and say, 'This spear is shrouded in mystery; whoever unlocks its secrets will rule the world.' Later Hitler said that those words had changed his whole life."
He spent hours staring at the spear that had pierced the side of Christ. He believed the spear was possessed by secret occult powers and invited those powers to invade his soul. Trevor Ravenscroft records the eye witness account of Dr. Walter Stein who stood beside young Hitler as he gazed at the spear,
"Adolph Hitler stood...like a man in a trance, a man over whom some dreadful magic spell had been cast...He was swaying on his feet as though caught up in some totally inexplicable euphoria...His whole [facial appearance] physiognomy and stance appeared transformed as if some mighty Spirit now inhabi

What do UFOs do to the Word of God and our faith? I have concluded that much of what is called UFOs are probably demonic!
UFOs would support naturalistic evolution to the point of believing that perfection would overcome death, disease, and so forth. When people believe in extra-terrestrial intelligence, that would mean that evolution has gone on for who knows how many billion years and, somewhere out there, life has ascended higher than here on earth.
Extra-Terrestrials lessen the incarnation of Jesus. If there really are many super-powerful aliens out there, this would lead to humans thinking that Jesus wasn’t that special. We can overcome death and disease with scientific marvels that higher intelligence have to share with us. What does Jesus matter if they can save us from oblivion, death, and diseases?
Extra-terrestrial Superior Life Erases the Creator
If there is life out there in the Universe, and these alien beings are trying to contact us, then humans could conclude:
• The earth is just an insignificant dot in the universe.
• Man is not the crown of God’s creation.
• Sin is just our problem, or not even a problem at all.
• Hope lies in contact with some of these “higher” life forms.
• Christ’s death was a local rather than a cosmic event.
• The Word of God is anachronistic, local, and out of touch with the big picture of the cosmos.
• We are not in God’s image.
That is what evolution, science fiction, and UFO-ology teach!
And those lies of Satan are deceiving mankind and thus determining their eternal destiny—separated forever from God in the lake of fire with the devil and his angels.
We need to spread the Truth to the perishing every chance we get!
Beware of the Lie
When Christ returns there will be powerful, pervasive, and universal lies backed by the most believable signs and wonders ever witnessed on planet Earth.
When Jesus came to earth, He was God in human flesh; as the Christ, He was the expression of all the promises of God.
To think that Christ in all His grace and beauty came to earth, stayed for thirty-plus years, was rejected as false and fake, and almost no one followed Him, is bad enough.
But to know that Satan is going to send to earth the expression of all of mankind’s desires in the person of the Antichrist, and in a very short time almost all the earth will follow him, is absolutely heart-wrenching!
The winds of apostasy are blowing stronger each day. Are You anchored in the Doctrine of Christ?

What is Affliction? As mentioned 37x in the Old Testament affliction takes at least 7 forms noted below:
1. Affliction is the ill-treatment Hagar got from her jealous and vengeful boss Sarai. Genesis 16:11 And the Angel of the Lord said to her: “Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael Because the Lord has heard your affliction.
2. Affliction is the lack of love that Leah got from her husband Jacob. Genesis 29:32 So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, “The Lord has surely looked on my affliction. Now, therefore, my husband will love me.”
3. Affliction is the lost wages and broken promises Jacob got from his employer and father-in-law Laban. Genesis 31:36 Then Jacob was angry and rebuked Laban, and Jacob answered and said to Laban: “What is my trespass? What is my sin, that you have so hotly pursued me?
4. Affliction is the hatred, jealousy, and betrayal that Joseph experienced from his family, and his employers – as well as the neglect and broken promises of his friends. Genesis 41:52 And the name of the second he called Ephraim: “For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.”
5. Affliction is the underpayment and overwork of the Hebrews by unkind and evil masters. Exodus 3:7 And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
6. Affliction is the pain Hannah endured because of her inability to have children, and the added insensitivity and cruelty of her family members to her pain. 1 Samuel 1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.
7. Affliction is the unkind words, slander, accusations, and insults thrown upon David by his adversary Shimei. 2 Samuel 16:12 It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.”
