Gotta admit, the Expansion Pass is getting better and better, but I'm still going to wait before buying it.

I'm trying to get the message across. That video was mine to begin with, it was my idea, and he's taking credit for it.

It was originally supposed to be the final scene for the remake of the Ultimate Emissary music video I made back in June. Then, Sakurai posted a Pic Of The Day, celebrating the anniversary of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children". Seeing that Sakurai's tweets are always the best place to get attention for content and memes, as it's where my "Age Is Only A Number, Luigi" meme took off for the first time, I decided to post Kazuya and Sephiroth's fight in the comments on impulse.
It got some pretty positive attention, so I decided to expand upon it and finally use the tools I had at my disposal to actually make some cutscenes. The hardest part for me was the sound effects. Sephiroth's was easy, since I had a whole compilation of FFVII Remake cutscenes with no music or subtitles, making editing them in a cinch. Tekken 7's cinematics, not so much, since they unfortunately didn't allow one to turn off the music and subtitles. Be real cool if they did, though.
The whole idea for this thing all started when I was ranting in a Facebook section about how much I wanted Mario and Sonic to interact in a cinematic, which was the whole reason why I wanted an Emissary sequel in the first place, since Sonic was added to Brawl last minute, and Sakurai didn't end up giving him a big role aside from his sneak attack against Tabuu at the very end. Some guy commented on it and told me off for being a whiny Nintendo stan who was never satisfied with what Sakurai gave him. Another mentioned Super Mario Bros. Z and how that was an unofficial Mario and Sonic crossover. This gave me an idea: make my own cutscenes. The Ultimate Emissary music video greatly emphasized Mario and Sonic's interactions as a result of this epiphany, opening with combining Ken's reveal trailer with footage from the original M&S at the Olympic Games teaser trailer with Mario and Sonic walking into the stadium, edited with raw walking sound effects.
This won't be the last cinematic. There will be more to come.
