Pick up Atomic Habits here: https://jamesclear.com/atomic-habits
But what we don’t understand is we’re rewiring our brain to do these things as a habit.
We don’t take an action once. Our brains are designed to minimize energy expenditure. And if we do the same thing over and over, our brains carve out pathways to repeat the behavior without thinking.
This is how we form habits. But what happens when we’ve formed bad habits?
A bad meal won’t kill you. But eating half a bag of chips every day will. Consistency of actions is one of the only guarantees of success or failure in this life
A river cuts through rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence.
But what happens when we are persistently doing the unhealthy things? The smoking. The drinking. Unhealthy eating. Scrolling through social media.
How do we fix that?
Luckily, I’m here to help. Today we are going to be covering habit formation and learning how to break these bad habits that we’ve accumulated.
Every habit is able to be broken down into this simple framework:
Cue - Craving - Response - Reward
You walk into your kitchen and see a bag of chips. You suddenly want the bag of chips. You open the bag and eat some. Your reward is that you get to eat delicious chips.
You weren’t planning on this. But there was a cue in your environment that triggered the entire habit loop without you even thinking about it.
To implement behavior change, we need to consciously look at what we want to change, and modify our environment to affect every aspect of our habit framework. Which you can find by looking at the video.
We are learning how to break bad habits the right way so that we can give up things that aren't helping us. Stop our bad and unhealthy habits and pick up healthy ones.

"At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for — the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?"
And many more quotes about getting over procrastination from MARCUS AURELIUS himself. Enjoy the Stoic wisdom, take care.

There's a lot of confusion about Buddhism. Is it a religion or a philosophy, are they all monks or what?
Well, they follow a fairly standard religion that is of the belief that all humans suffer. And we suffer because we have desires. Buddhism is a practical religion with a toolset to help you remove your desires.
Through changing mindsets, meditation, yoga, and certain beliefs to follow, we can all reach that state of Nirvana where there are no desires.
I hope this video helps you to reach Nirvana or understand more about Buddhism. What is Buddhism, and what are the the beliefs that the Buddhists follow.

Let me know what you think about me standing in front of the camera and talking, do you want to see more of this, maybe alternating videos of animations and me somewhere scenic, or do you want just straight animations?
I feel I find more and more gems every time I read through it. In the last year, I’ve noticed there’s a lot more spirituality in Stoicism than I previously thought.
The Stoics talk a lot about acting in line with the logos, what they mean by this you can interchange with logos being “the way the universe operates”.
Conduct yourself in line with the logos.
Here are six quotes that I found really resonated with me over the last year.
“Stop drifting. Sprint for the finish. Write off your hopes, and if your well-being matters to you, be your own savior while you can.” P 33
There’s a lot that you need to squeeze in to make this a life. Don’t hang out, don’t remain indecisive. Pick a path and pursue it to the end. But if you don’t want to be intense all the time, and you want a work life balance, figure that out as well.
“No random actions, none not based on underlying principles.” P 37
What do you want to get out of your life? It doesn’t make sense to have a vision, and then get pulled in whatever direction presents itself. Make sure everything you do has a purpose and principle behind it.
It’s quite possible to be a good man without anyone realizing it. Remember that.” P 96
What matters is the principle behind everything you do. Your job is to be a good person and a hard worker, all of the praise or blame that you get is just noise. You need to just be the best you can be because it’s the right thing to do, not for anyone else to take notice.
“What happens to each of us is ordered. It furthers our destiny.” P 56
There’s a lot of moments in my life that were devastating to me when they happened. Either a rough breakup or a failed job opportunity or business deal. But looking back on it, it turns out that it was the exact right thing that needed to happen at that exact moment. It may not make sense now, but we are being carried to the proper place.
“Love the discipline you know, and let it support you. Entrust everything willingly to the gods, and then make your way through life – no one’s master and no one’s slave.” P 44
Whatever you are passionate about, whatever you know how to do really well, just do that. Don
