What is the difference in width between a SN95 axle and a New Edge axle?
Turns out it's about 40mm or 1.5 inches total - or half that per side however you want to think about it.
A New Edge axle is approximately 62-1/4" wide and a SN95 axle is approximately 60-3/4" wide.
You should be aware that the lower control arm bolts for SN95 and New Edge axles are slightly different in size but you can just swap control arms at the same time, or buy aftermarket control arms which match the axle and it fits perfectly. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_c3Uzah-Ig
I have the good fortune of being able to own two vehicles and noticed I've put almost the same number of miles on them since the last oil change interval using the same oil, same oil filter, same weather and about the same operating conditions.
In this unscientific observation I look at how each oil visually appears after around 2000 miles in a Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi MDS engine and a Jeep Patriot 2.4L dual VVT engine.
There's an obvious difference visually - if I had to guess the oil in the Jeep is a little closer to "spent" - probably because it has to work a lot harder relative to its size in order to maintain speed on the highway. Especially on mountain grades the 5.7L V8 doesn't need to downshift as much or run at high RPM so the temperature in the heads and around the exhaust ports is probably much lower on average.
Both vehicles are 4wd and have 6 speed automatic transmissions.

This took a little while but the Rumrunner 1996 V6 Mustang finally has its chassis settled with the inclusion of a refreshed 2003 Mustang GT rear axle & quad shocks.
It rides like a new car but that's not surprising...
Is it fast yet? Not really... but it's a pleasure to drive and it's a whole lot less slow than it was when I started.

Practicing driving both the truck & the drone in manual mode at the same time.
Definitely not something to do on public roads or anywhere around other people, or other hazards - but it looks like it works OK when a short, straight line shot is needed.

There's no story here I was just fooling around while my wife was at work. Took my Jeep Patriot out to the woods and saw some huge kitty prints!

This video is my installation of 1" lift springs which also increase carrying capacity by 400lbs. I bought them from Adventure Driven Design, and they are made locally from American steel to hopefully last "forever" without sagging.
Actual net lift of 1-1/4" (empty) and they ride very nicely, not stiff.
There is also a rear brake proportioning valve on these vehicles that needs to be adjusted after lifting; I will be doing that this week (after researching how to do that)

Thirsty for more, we PROBE THE DEPTHS OF EARTH once again in search of water or ghosts or dead schnauzers or... whatever LURKS AT THE BOTTOM OF A 120 YEAR OLD MINE SHAFT.
Do we find anything? Probably not. But if you like colonoscopy videos & abandoned mineshafts and wish somebody made a combination of those things you're in luck.
