A look at two boxes with new Chinese lathe inserts
I use the Andonstar digital inspection microscope for a close up look at some DCMT070204 inserts. I bough some blue nano and gold coloured inserts for some lathe tools I had laying around but never used before.

I'm modifying and old faceplate so can mount a worn out 7.5 inch chuck to my vintage Karger lathe. I'll tell ya, turning cast iron sucks, and is a messy job!

I messed up one of my collets and I can't find a replacement.
So I asked Banggood if I could do a review on one of their nice looking collet sets.
They agreed and send me a case filled with shiny ER32 collets, a hook spanner and a mt3 collet chuck that fits my old lathe.
So, go watch this dreadfully long review video featuring some metal turds and the ultimate quality control failure.

My vintage Karger lathe suffers from chatter problems. So in a previous video I made some changes to the compounded slides.
Now it's time to see if my changes had a positive effect.
I'm not going to waste stock material doing some testing, so I'm starting a new project. I'm making a screw on arbor for a drill chuck I found at the local flea market.

Last year I made a height adjustable holder for my internal tuning tools that replaces the default 4 way tool post on my cheap Chinese lathe. I works good and so far I've used it a few times but I never uploaded this compilation video. Enjoy, cause I won't be making any new videos for a while.

I'm reviewing this 80 millimeter shell mill from Banggood. It uses APMT1604 inserts and a MT3 arbor that fits my vintage Karger lathe.
I'm hoping this mill will out-preform the fly-cutter I've been using lately.

In this video I remake the failed backing plate for the er32 collet chuck using a different method. The part turned out a lot better then the last time but I'm still not completely happy as there is a bit more slop on the lathe spindle nose then I would have liked. Maybe next time I'll get it right :)

If you've been following my amateur machining efforts, you probably know that I ran the threading tool into the work-piece and screwed thing up big time. Anyway, lets have a look if the part is still salvageable before I have to start all over again.
Note: I'm trying out a new youtube feature called "Premiere". Just curious how that works.
