This video contains an honest review of Craft Resin Low Viscosity Epoxy Resin for artists. First, I explain Craft Resin's features, including a discussion on viscosity and which projects low viscosity resin is suitable for. I also included mixing instructions and discuss the ideal working conditions for the Craft Resin product. The video concludes with a Craft Resin product test. For the test I make a wine butler and coaster set. I use a variety of pigments for this project to see how they interact with the craft resin. During the demolding discuss how you can get a discount on Craft Resin and have included the links below.

NEW RESIN SWIPE METHOD: Place silicone oil DIRECTLY on the swipe tool of your choice and get ready for some beautiful results!
I am relatively new to resin art and swipe technique has taken me a while to learn. It always looks easier than it actually is, but some of the resin swipe 'greats' on YouTube, including Artist Till Death, Moonkusser Art, Mixed Media Girl, Sue Findlay, Petra Jongbloed, JOTZ designs have inspired me to keep at it.
I have yet to see another resin artist use the specific method of applying silicone oil directly to the swipe tool. Most artists use Resi-Blast, mix silicone oil into the resin, or sprinkle silicone oil on top of the resin after a swipe. These methods also create beautiful results, but we are always looking to find different methods to create different effects. I thought this one was worth sharing.
I love the subtle patterns this method creates and I hope I can inspire others to try a resin swipe painting!
If you are like me, you have experimented with swipe technique on acrylic pours. For some reason, resin swipes are more complicated, requiring patience and practice! Thanks again to all the wonderful YouTube resin artists I watch on the daily.

This resin project is done on a pre-framed round canvas, purchased here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016CEC94M/?tag=affiliash04-20
The neat thing about this project is that you have the option to use your final piece as wall art or a serving tray, or both! That's some functional art!
This is a beginners project,as the framed canvas makes the resin process much easier. The trick is to use different types of mediums in your resin. Here are just a few of the mediums I use together in most of my pieces:
Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint: https://amzn.to/2T3qByW
Envirotex Lite Epoxy Resin: https://amzn.to/2t7gRsZ
Pearl Ex Pigments: this is the kit I have and I love it: https://amzn.to/351yTKB ( this is the kit I own. it's great!)
Dr. Ph Martin's India Ink: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BNBVO6/ref=nosim?tag=affiliash04-20
Alcohol Inks: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CT1YCQ3/ref=nosim?tag=affiliash04-20
For beginners, I suggest starting with a framed canvas like this one, and picking 3-4 colors for your project. For best results, pick a dark color, light color, accent color, and a metallic. Use a different medium for each, such as alcohol inks, acrylic inks, acrylic Paints, pigment powders, spray paint, etc.
Budget friendly options/tips:
-eyeshadows work just like pigment powders and you can get some really cool colors at your local dollar store if you don't already have some in the back of your makeup drawer!
-food coloring works to give a transparent look to your resin, just like alcohol inks. Food coloring works great with a little silicone oil mixed in it if you want a cell, lacing effect in your piece
Last tip of the day: KNOW WHEN TO STOP. DO NOT WORK YOUR RESIN INTO A MUDDY MESS. THE EFFECTS WILL HAPPEN AFTER YOU WALK AWAY FROM THE PIECE. trust in the process.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi I am Ashley from Craftelot Resin Co. One of my favorite types of resin art is an ocean piece. I love how realistic the ocean looks when it is created with epoxy resin. I learned this technique watching hundreds of YouTube resin artists' videos. I figured it would be nice to have a complete guide to creating Ocean Resin art pieces in one video! So here you go! All the supplies you will need are linked below. If you feel the video is too fast, click the settings (gear) icon and select Playback Speed. Set the speed to .5 and the video will play slower. Feel free to screenshot any parts of the video you need and please leave any questions you may have in the comments below! Have fun and can't wait to hear how your ocean Resin art pieces turned out. ???????????

In this video, I show the process used to create my latest resin piece. Dutch pours, usually done with acrylic paint and pouring mediums, involve blowing base colors over the primary colors in your piece then blowing the primary colors back out over your base colors. I know, sounds confusing. Hopefully the video aids understanding of this method.
The artist most often credited for this technique is Rinske Douna. She does some amazing art, which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUja5EAzgfB0ViodBt_Pj8CitTkDXWgR2
Other artists have attempted the Dutch pour technique using resin. Here are some of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXHv_QdC0zB9-jbJTyuF9axx4CTony87H
I call the technique I used in the piece a DOUBLE Dutch pour simply because I repeated the process twice. Nervously, I went for it, thinking, if my colors got too muddy I'd chalk it up to 'another learning experience!' In my opinion, it turned out better than expected.
