I love this video on so many levels lol! It goes to show how fun life as soldier can be and how we manage to make the boring slow time the fun times. Soldiers have a wicked sense of humor and remember that this is all in good fun! All the troops here were able to laugh this off as a small practical joke! It's called banter! ;-)

Reports that the British Army was firmly considering moving away from suppression in favor of precision in infantry fire-fights surfaced at a specialist Soldier Technology conference in London in early 2016 and at a Future Soldier Technology conference this spring more detail surfaced. One of the current underlying British Army’s mantras is ‘Fight Light’ and in this context casting some weapons types might make sense.
Both the 5.56mm L86A2, generally known as the Light Support Weapon, and the 5.56mm L110A3 Light Machine Gun, the FN Minimi, will be withdrawn from service at the end of the current fiscal year (i.e. by April 2019), along with the M6C-640 60mm mortar. It has been stated that to partially compensate for this reduction in firepower of the infantry section the number of 7.62mm L129A1 Sharpshooter rifles could be increased, but to date there is no sign of an order being placed for more of these, and it has also been hinted that the hand-held mortar will be replaced by another system currently under evaluation.
The L86A2 LSW is basically a heavy barrel version of the L85A1 (SA80A1) assault rifle produced by Royal Ordnance in the 1980s and modified by Heckler & Koch to A2 standard from 2001. First operationally deployed to Saudi Arabia on Operation GRANBY in 1990 and fired in anger in 1991 on Operation DESERT SABRE in Kuwait and Southern Iraq, the weapon had the advantage of using the same 30-round magazine as its assault rifle sibling, but this was also one of two main disadvantages when used for laying down suppressive fire as magazines had to be repeatedly changed.
Following its mid-life upgrade, the A2 version of the LSW was intended to serve until at least 2015 but in 2003 the heightened pace of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan caused the British Army to initiate an Urgent Operational Requirement for a new belt-fed weapon with a replaceable barrel capability, the lack of which was the second disadvantage of the LSW, able to lay down a sustained rate of 5.56mm supporting fire. The L110A3 Light Machine Gun, known commercially as the Para version of the 5.56mm FN Minimi, was the new weapon procured and this proved to be a popular choice with infantry sections.

The A-10 Thunderbolt has a uncertain future. In this video we discuss it.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single seat, twin turbofan engine, straight wing jet aircraft developed by Fairchild-Republic for the United States Air Force USAF. Commonly referred to by its nicknames "Warthog" or "Hog", its official name comes from the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, a World War II fighter that was effective at attacking ground targets. The A-10 was designed for close-in support of ground troops, close air support (CAS), providing quick-action support for troops against helicopters, vehicles, and ground troops.
The Thunderbolt II can employ a wide variety of conventional munitions, including general purpose bombs, cluster bomb units, laser guided bombs, joint direct attack munitions or JDAM, wind corrected munitions dispenser or WCMD, AGM-65 Maverick and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, rockets, illumination flares, and the GAU-8/A 30mm cannon, capable of firing 3,900 rounds per minute to defeat a wide variety of targets including tanks.
Over 367 A-10 aircraft are in service with the US Air Force, Air Combat Command, the US Air Force Reserve and the Air National Guard.

Ever since I was young I have been very fascinated by aerial combat footage from WW2 and onward. Its impressive to see pilots testing their skills and the kind of technology that is required to capture such footage. In this video we go over how it has advanced since the Vietnam war.

The MBDA Akeron MP (Akeron Moyenne Portée), formerly known as MMP (Missile Moyenne Portée; English: Medium-Range Missile), is a French fifth generation, network-enabled, anti-tank guided missile system. Featuring both fire-and-forget and command guidance operating modes, it also integrates third party target designation for indirect firing scenarios through its lock-on after launch capability for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) use.
AKERON MP is the only 5th generation missile in service combat proven in the world. It has been operationally tested and proven in extreme climates (desert and sub-arctic conditions). The system’s design includes the growth potential necessary for future modern land combat systems.
This unique fifth generation land and naval combat missile system
is the perfect candidate for combat vehicle integration and
dismounted deployment.
- High level of day and night reconnaissance and
identification capability
- Lethality against a wide target set including latest MBTs,
defended structure and group of enemy in the open
- Forget or Man-in-the-Loop capabilities, even at maximum range
- Man-in-the-Loop allowing retargeting, aim point selection and
mission abort in two firing modes:
– Lock-on-Before-Launch (LOBL)
– Lock-on-After-Launch (LOAL)

Well after my epic fail of a attempt to play this on livestream I am trying again but this time as a standalone play through of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare campaign.
I have to admit, as much as it looks great, so far the campaign has been very cliche and fairly timid. Predictable gameplay and lackluster excitement. It does look great though....only after 7 hours of updates and graphics shaders installations....
Anyway lets begin Episode 1 of the new full campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Hope you enjoy!!

The AH-64D Apache Longbow is equipped with a glass cockpit and advanced sensors, the most noticeable of which being the AN/APG-78 Longbow millimeter-wave fire-control radar (FCR) target acquisition system and the Radar Frequency Interferometer (RFI), housed in a dome located above the main rotor. The radome's raised position enables target detection while the helicopter is behind obstacles (e.g. terrain, trees or buildings). The AN/APG-78 is capable of simultaneously tracking up to 128 targets and engaging up to 16 at once, an attack can be initiated within 30 seconds. A radio modem integrated with the sensor suite allows data to be shared with ground units and other Apaches; allowing them to fire on targets detected by a single helicopter.
The aircraft is powered by a pair of uprated T700-GE-701C engines. The forward fuselage was expanded to accommodate new systems to improve survivability, navigation, and 'tactical internet' communications capabilities. In February 2003, the first Block II Apache was delivered to the U.S. Army, featuring digital communications upgrades. The Japanese Apache AH-64DJP variant is based on the AH-64D; it can be equipped with the AIM-92 Stinger air-to-air missiles for self-defense.

Being in the artillery we tend to think we are safe from the majority of conventional direct fire weapons and the combat arms of the enemy that does not involve counter battery fire. However, the battlefield is constantly changing and in modern times it is easier for the worst enemy for a artillery battery to slip through the main battlegroup force.
Tanks.
One thing you would never want to hear while in a fire mission in the artillery is the calling out of: "TANK ALERT!!". At this point the gun position is extremely vulnerable and the battery either decides to fight back, crash out (run) or continue to fire your fire mission and still fight. It's scary to know as a gunner that a mobile force such as armored regiments could destroy an entire battery or even regiment of artillery if they got inside.
But we are not completely helpless. Thanks to the skill and professionalism of the artillery and how good our fire discipline is, we can fight back with the guns in a direct fire capability. In this instance of fire it is being as fast as possible to suppress and destroy the enemy armor coming towards you.
Thanks to 78th Field Regiment and their gun drills footage for this amazing look into the role of a gunner when things are not far away.....but right in front of you, pointing their barrels straight back at you.
