Braincast #005 - Applesoft BASIC Maze Generation
The BrainCast is finally back! Time to learn how to do some things in Applesoft BASIC on the Apple // hardware...well, ok, on the Virtual ][ emulator for the Mac (so much thanks to Gerard Putter).

The Depth-First Search algorithm is a simple algorithm for generating a maze. The concept of a matrix of cells holding information on which walls are up and where the neighbors are leads to the want to create a user defined datatype. In Applesoft BASIC, such structures are not available. It is possible, however, to use multidimensional arrays to hold the required data.

Brainmuffin leads through the ideas of the Depth-First search algorithm and how to create a maze using the Applesoft BASIC language and the low resolution graphics of the Apple ][ platform.
