The action takes place at night, in the insanely big, randomly generated Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Players are randomly placed in one of the two available categories: nightguards and animatronics.

Nightguard role overview:

You, along with a few other people, have been hired on a night maintenance shift. They pay well, so why not? So... you just have to descend into the depths of the howling silence, repair some stuff... and make sure you never approach the echoing laugh... and don't let it get too close...

Animatronic role overview:

Animatronics will have to go around the place in order to find and kill the nightguards. Each animatronic plays differently and you aren't able to choose the one you become.
