This was a fun toy boat project I designed for kids. The toy sailboats are made from little caps taken from juice and milk cartons. I connected the toothpick mast with small sections of tubing so the sails could be angled to catch the wind just like a real sailboat. I could have done a better job on the keels.Thin metal from soda cans may be better to make the keels than popsicle sticks. I think if I play around with the shape of the keels I can actually get the boats to sail across the wind.
I used a heat gun and a vise to shape the caps but I don't know if it mattered much. If you try this I recommend the lighter thinner caps on juice cartons, the caps on coke bottles are very thick and hard to shape and would not need to be heated but you would still need to squeeze them in a vise.
If you have some mud puddles and some very young kids this will get their attention and you can teach them about making things on their own and even how sailboats sail.
If you toy boats in the next month I will be adding a few more toy boat designs out of recycled material and will be adding small electric toy motors to them. Don't forget to check out my other DIY videos and playlists.

Last week I tested the accuracy of a very low-cost infrared thermometer on Amazon. This week I tried to come up with as many uses for a digital infrared thermometer I could think of, hope you enjoy them.

This is the best chocolate tofu chickpea pie recipe video on YouTube. This is also most likely the only chocolate tofu chickpea pie recipe video on YouTube. It's pretty darn good.
Last week I made a lemon tofu chickpea pie which was excellent. I experimented with the recipe this week and learned a few things.
In last week's recipe, I added some cornstarch to thicken the pie filling but did not cook it because the original tofu recipe did not cook theirs after they added the cornstarch. However, in my experience in order to activate the cornstarch and make it thick. It's important to cook it.
I mixed my ingredients in my Hamilton Beach food processor and then poured the mixture into a microwave container and microwaved it for four minutes then stirred and microwaved again for four minutes and then added the mixture into a store-bought graham cracker crust.
I used shelfstable firm tofu but I think you can use regular refrigerated tofu. It's essential to keep your ingredients dry and not too wet. I added my cooked chickpeas to a container lined with paper towels and let it sit in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
If pie filling ends up with too much liquid, you can remove a piece of pie, scoop out any liquid on the bottom, and let it sit for a couple of days in the refrigerator. However, if you cook it in the microwave as I did. I'm sure it will get nice and thick.
I added some ingredients this week that I don't think I will add in the future. Primarily the coconut oil and packet of chocolate drink. Just stick with the cocoa and sugar.
Ingredients
One small box of shelf-stable tofu
1 cup of cooked dried chickpeas
4 tablespoons of cocoa
4 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
1 9-inch graham cracker crust
Be sure to mix the chickpeas long enough in the food processor you don't want any grainy texture.

I eat this slow-cooked pasta vegetable meal almost every day. The cost of this dish is very low and I can't think of too many ways to make vegetables taste better.
The recipe is very forgiving, you can add or subtract many ingredients and still end up with something tasty. I think the key is the slow cooking and the capturing of all of the liquids from the vegetables and having the pasta absorb all of the liquid to make it even more flavorful.
If you have a small garden or if there are any foraging opportunities in your area this dish can utilize many different food items. I think the two most important items IN THIS RECIPE are cabbage and mushrooms.
Having said all this about how good a vegetable dish this is if you are able to eat and enjoy meat this meal complements different varieties of meat and make it even tastier.

I purchased a cheap time-lapse camera back in 2016 and never used it. This month I started using it and this is the first video I made with it. I am not really happy with the time-lapse camera.
The camera is a Wingscapes 8.0 camera. On the one hand, the concept looks brilliant. The program it has to set up the functions is extremely user-friendly and it appears well-made and has a simple design. Unfortunately, I have used it multiple times at different time capture interval settings and the camera stops recording before it should repeatedly.
I am intrigued with it though because if it worked correctly it would allow me to set the camera to start at a specific time and stop and have it run for days at a time. It takes eight AA batteries. The batteries do not last very long at all. It was very disappointing. So far the only time settings I have used have been the 10 and 30-second intervals.
Currently, I am experimenting with filming without the batteries with the camera hooked up directly to a 12 V power supply. The company provides a link to a site where the users can download time-lapse software to turn the photos that were captured into a video. The link no longer works.
I called the company and talked to a wonderful and nice lady in Alabama and she sent me by email the links to three other sites where I could get the software to make my time-lapse videos. The first one I used was actually pretty good but I found out it was a temporary permit only and after so much time I had to pay for it if I wanted to continue using it.
The other two links she sent me either would not work with my computer or there was some other issue that I have forgotten. So basically I had to go on the Internet and try to find free time-lapse software that should have come with the camera. I found one and use it yesterday and was actually happy with the visual quality. I think it must have a codec that allows it to make my photographs look better as a video because the colors and shapes are much more bright and more sharp.
I seem to have gotten the time-lapse bug. I'm going to be doing some more experiments with time-lapse. I found out that the phone I have which is a Samsung galaxy A21 does not have a time-lapse or a hyper-lapse feature. What I did was download a program from Google store which is called filmic pro-for $15 and now I have the time-lapse feature on my phone so I will probably be doing some time-lapse or hyper-lapse with my phone.
But here again, there is a problem that the phone can only take time-lapse for a short period of time and also you don't want to tie up your phone taking a video for days. So I thought the time-lapse camera I had bought would have been a really good thing but right now I'm kind of on the fence. It's not looking too good. I do not recommend the wingscape camera to anyone in fact I'm not sure if they have a new updated one. This is an older model that only has the eight-megapixel capability.

Here is my original recipe video for a low fat diet barbecue-flavored microwave potato chip that is super crunchy, very spicy and very original as it is coated in corn flour.
Coating the chip with corn flour while the potato is damp after slicing removes the need to dry the potato before seasoning them and makes the spices adhere tightly to the chip. This method greatly speeds up the preparation and makes a more economical use of the spices.
Next time I will try grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
I was surprised at how crispy the Ronco chip maker and the microwave made the potato chips. The carousel holds a lot more potato than the older plate
I had used in the past.
I experimented with the time needed to microwave the chips to get the right amount of crispness without browning and burning.
I have an old 700-watt microwave that took 8 minutes on the high setting. You will need to experiment with your cooking time and temperature.
I did not have any chili powder which is the main ingredient of this barbecue spice coating. Even so, the flavor was good.
You do not need to add the turmeric but I found only a tiny amount it helps to give the chip a nice golden color.
the cayenne pepper is also optional if you have the chili powder.
Please let me know how it turns out if you buy one and make this recipe yourself. try adding other items to the cornmeal like grated cheese.
barbecue recipe
1/4 cup cornmeal mix
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/8 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp paprika

Turmeric may be a very important item to add to your diet. Here is my easy way to make it into a tea so you can add it to your daily diet.
To make your turmeric even cheaper, try growing the root yourself. it is as easy to grow as ginger, which if you have warm temperatures, is as easy to grow as a weed.
My family has a history of Alzheimers and I have a keen interest in learning what may be available to prevent or slow the disease.
Recent studies show that Turmeric may be of some benefit. I have always thought the answer to this disease would come from a food as there are some people in other countries that do not get the disease as much as we do.
Even if there are no health benefits to Turmeric, and the literature is showing there may be many benefits, the spice is quite mild, not unpleasant at all, very low cost and gives all food it is used with a wonderful golden color. What's not to like?
I have been busy seeing how many common foods I can add it to and am adding more all the time.
Check out the links and do your own research and give Turmeric a try.
I add more videos every week.
When to Avoid Turmeric
1.It is suggested to avoid turmeric intake during pregnancy due to risk of pre-mature uterine contractions, uterine bleeding or painful uterine spasms. Not enough data is available to support the intake of turmeric in breast-feeding mothers and therefore most healthcare providers suggest avoiding turmeric during lactation period.
2.Turmeric intake is associated with aggravation of gallbladder dysfunction and is best avoided in the setting of bile-duct obstruction.
3.Turmeric interferes with normal blood clotting and should be stopped at least 2 months in advance of any major surgery
4.Turmeric increases the secretion of gastric acid and thus should be avoided in known patients of dyspepsia and gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
5.If you have a known history of allergy to organic coloring agents (especially yellow colored agents that include curcumin, there are fair chances that you will also be allergic to turmeric. In addition, since turmeric and ginger are members of same family, individuals who have allergy to any member of ginger family may also develop reaction to turmeric
