Hastings 28/05/23 Rolling Thunder Conex events were started to bring veterans together monthly to undertake a walk/hike where we can talk and listen to those who need help. Everyone is welcome to attend and support those veterans who suffer from mental health issues such as PTSD and are lonely. Giving these veterans an incentive and something to look forward to is so important and helps those veterans feel a part of something. Hastings was an organised event that took place this year and the numbers that are attending have grown significantly from the first one that was staged in the Peak District. These events are designed to be held in many different areas of the UK, so in theory we are connecting to all areas. The other main reason for the CONEX program is to promote the issues of those veterans who are being persecuted for serving in Northern Ireland during OP Banner. We are taking the message to those areas that we have designated, we engage, discuss, promote, and hand out leaflets to explain the issues that these Op Banner veterans are going through. Everyone can attend this event, Bikers, Foot Soldiers, Hikers/Walkers whatever part you want to play there is a place for you. If you do not want to participate in the walk that is fine, you can still attend and support or get involved with admin for the day.
