On October 29, 2018, Cyanide Studio released Call of Cthulhu, a game declared an official adaptations of Chaosium's pen-and-paper RPG of the same name. It was published by Focus Home Interactive and has received average-to-positive reviews.
Controls are generally fairly basic: W, A, S, and D for movement; no jump or climb function (unless prompted); LCtrl to enter crouch mode (and LCtrl again to leave crouch mode); LMB to interact (open, try to pick a lock, examine a clue, etc.); RMB to "release" an item (like putting an examined picture back); LShift to run; and J to access the journal (including clues, character information, the protagonist's skills, etc.).
In 1924, former World War I soldier and now Private Investigator Edward Pierce is only scraping by because of a lack of cases. Then, one Daniel Webster — a powerful Boston socialite — seeks help to understand the tragic death his daughter, her husband, and their child. However, on the isle of Darkwater, loyalties are divided and almost everyone seems to have their own agenda. When the clues lead P.I. Pierce to clues about a cult and nefarious happenings, he must begin to question his own sanity as well. What exactly happened to the Hawkins family? Let's play Call of Cthulhu to find out.
