This is the first in a 4 part Series on building a portable modular garage in Solidworks. I have a big truck and wanted a garage where the floor wouldn't deflect under load as a truck is really 4 point loads, not an even load spread out through the floor. So this garage is unique in that it has a simple but effective solution in the floor for the point loading of a vehicle. Part 4.

We went camping for my son's birthday and on the way home, we blew a "hot" side turbo flex hose. The coupler that connects the intercooler to the steel charge pipe. Upon further inspection, I found that there was also a pinhole in the coupler that connects the steel charge pipe to the turbo. After a bit of online research I shied away from the cheap amazon silicon couplers in favor of one offered by one of the diesel aftermarket parts companies online. At the time of this video, the two couplers cost approx. $90.00. I will post a link at a later date. See video for brand.

This is a pretty lengthy How-To viedo on how to take off, clean and put back on your EGR valve by using a sandblaster (which you can get a cheap one at harbor freight) and some baking soda (which is very fine and doesn't harm the EGR) to clean the built up soot when your car throws a code. The codes that may show up on your OBD reader can consist of the following:
P0205C, P0402, P2457, P0299, P0405, P0403, 4B82, 40E9, 4C9E, 4C9F codes.
The OBD reader is bad ass, and updated quite consistently. It has a fantastic user rating and can be had here!

Hey again.....
Here is a Solidworks Quick Tip Vid on Silhouette Edges. These are the edges formed when a plane (your sketch plane) passes thru an object in Solidworks. The are very helpful when designing sheetmetal bracketry.
Hope this helps someone,

Hey Guys, I sort of invented this way of lifting in my head. I am sure it has been done before and I am not the first to think of it. However it allowed me to raise a very large and awkward roof structure 14' into the air and then move it into place. As always I hope this helps someone.

Guys, this is a simple one. Of course use the pallet that the metal roofing company ships the roofing with. We reinforced the front of the pallet with 10' 2x6s so it wouldn't bend as much when lifting. Used the ol' Harbor Freight Hoist (link below) and lifted those bad boys up onto the roof. Ty did some filming this time which was great, and as always, you know the drill....
Hope this helps someone out there.

This is the 2nd Video in a 3 part training series. I am using Solidworks in a virtual machine, specifically VM Workstation. I know 2012 is outdated, and I do have 2013 and 2014 installed in other VMs but just decided to use this one. This video is a follow up to the Grind Box; This is a simple landing that could be added to the Grind Box.
