Saving Faith and Two Islamic Videos on a Jumbo Edition of the DL
Started off with a discussion from the London Baptist Confession of Faith, Chapter 14, on "Saving Faith," and then moved to a review of two Islamic videos, one critiquing Dr. David Wood, and the other a lecture from Dr. Ali Ataie. A fair amount of discussion of soteriology early on, and trinitarian and incarnational theology toward the latter portions of the program. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVGEin3dcHY
Halfway through my May trip, currently in Memphis, headed up toward Nashville before doubling back to Pryor, Oklahoma. Gave a bit of a report on my time at GBTS in Conway, then got into Apologia Radio's response to G3, then moved on to consider how Daniel 7 relates to other key passages, and finished up reviewing Albert Mohler's article on theonomy from a few weeks ago. One brief interruption (another thing Rich is working on) but otherwise smooth sailing today!

I am in the wilds of eastern Mississippi but we got a program in anyway! Super encouraging stuff from the trip so far, including last night's presentation on the Trinity and Oneness theology. I also discussed Dr. Kevin Young's amazing assertion that I declined the debate challenge I offered to him, which I clearly did not. Then we looked at some Thomas stuff, and finished with a response to an objection based upon Cyprian. Just over an hour today!

James returns from his trip to London to South Africa, back to London and then back home by way of Belfast whirlwind tour. After giving us an overview of the events he then turned his attention on present matters. First a reply to Steve Camp's criticism of debating Muslims from his Facebook page. Then a reply to Mike Licona's "calling out" for a debate with newbie Eric Lounsbery. Finally, James plays some clips from one of the wackiest King James Onlyists that we have seen.

We continued our response to and review of Trent Horn's video, here, https://youtu.be/nLX3yDgw5lk dealing with his attempt to get around the reality that he is personally not in a position to foist a novel definition upon the entire Church, let alone to call it the "death knell" of sola scriptura.

Christian militancy. Reviving the Inquisition. Wiping out heretics. Sound like medievalism? It is, but sadly, when you regularly encounter the medieval behavior of ISIS and Boko Haram and the like, it is easy to forget Christian teaching and adopt a bit of medievalism in response. Evidently, that’s what Theodore Shoebat has done. The son of Walid Shoebat, Theodore has been posting videos on line, and engaging in “debates,” and today on the program we review just a matter of moments of Theodore’s defense of “Catholicism.”

It was not hard at all to put together a string of articles on the moral anarchy in Western culture today, especially on the “transgender” issue. Touched on the conviction by a lower court of two men for daring to quote John 14:6 in public discussion in the UK. Then talked about a few other items, including the upcoming debate on the Trinity with Mr. Ventilacion of Iglesia Ni Christo up in Rapid City, South Dakota on April 21st. For those wondering, we kept it to an hour today!

Spent most of the hour reviewing the excuses rapper Jahaziel posted for denying Christianity (not surprisingly found them wanting), and then looked at an abortion doctor who is “proud” of her “service” as a “Christian.” Last DL of the year—Lord willing, see you again January 5th!

Started off with biblical discussions regarding how Christians are to interact with others, leading to some thoughts about those who wish to "destroy" others in the name of Christ. Then turned back to the Free Will debate that was the subject of the previous program, listening and responding along the way. 105 minutes today! More than a jumbo, less than a mega!

This will be my only program this week—don’t worry, we have a special guest filling in on Thursday (I have to head out of town quickly). So we went long, a full two hours. Covered a ton of topics from Pope Francis’ call for “believers of all religions” to join in asking God to “help us” with coronavirus, Dan Barker’s bad argument against the Christian faith due to a bad theology of prayer, and another bad, bad tweet from the Bad, Bad Twitter Man (me) wherein I once again failed to buy into the social justice narrative (oh, and one caller who went rounds with Rich showing that, like so many, he is controlled by his emotions rather than his mind). Then the last hour we went back to “Wilson vs. Augustine Actual,” reading comments from Wilson and then going to the cited Augustinian sources.
