When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden a “tension” was created in the heart of God. A conflict between his loyalty to his holiness (i.e. his duty to punish the guilty) and his loyalty to his love (i.e. his duty to show mercy to his beloved). And it is this dilemma which the Apostle Paul aims to resolve in Romans 3:21-26, answering the perennial question: How is it that God can remain just while justifying sinners?
For if God is perfectly holy, then he must punish his son and daughter when they eat of the forbidden fruit. Yet, if he is perfectly loving, then must he not also show them mercy (all things being equal)? How does the apostle resolve this tension?

Thus writes "the preacher" (i.e. King Solomon, i.e. the wisest man to ever live says the *Bible), but can these words of utter despair be true? What then, are we to take the advice of a bitter sinner and just 'curse God, and die?' This sermon unpacks these ideas and provides a heavenly perspective for how to go about living (and seeing) life in this fallen world.

"And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore, so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all other men, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol, and his fame was in all the surrounding nations.
