16mm film footage
This is very similar to another Western Airlines film I have posted but all of this was found on 3 different reels and stabilized this time.
1950's WESTERN AIRLINES, The ultimate early Western Airlines footage is 14 minutes of the approximate 1 hour of the actual 16mm film that is available. This is entirely cutting room floor stock footage and only a small part of it has been seen and only here on this YouTube channel. This video is made up of many short clips taken from the original. I do this because too much is just too much but also to protect the interests of someone wanting unseen material for their own project.
Imagine using this material and a few imaginative interior sets to create a very small budget film using Western Airlines as the vehicle for the entire film.
Most of the Western Aircraft in this film are the 1950's livery and made up of the Convair CV-240, Douglas DC-3 and Douglas DC-4 with at least one Lockheed L-749 Constellation. I have always had quite an unstudied infatuation with airplanes but I have little knowledge about them so feel free to correct my mistakes.
The aircraft are seen fly, landing, taking off, getting fueled, fueling passengers, loading passengers, seating passengers, cleaning the airplanes, loading luggage, flying over the Tetons, the cities, farmland. forest or that farewell shot as the aircraft fly's off into the sunset. What I am trying to say is that there is a shot for almost anything you would want to do with it.
