LFC#187 - Using an EZP2019 USB Programmer to Flash BIOS chips
So when I was messing around with the B450 Aorus M, I didn't think it would allow me to flash old BIOSs to test with. It actually did, so I never really needed this widget - but anyway here's a video showing how I used a USB EEPROM programmer to flash two blank BIOS chips with a backup of the factory chip. Now I have the means to fully recover a mobo that's BIOS bricked and does not have flashback. KIND OF INTERESTING. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFZlRyxuIV8
I went in expecting a board repair job on this one. Was actually much simpler... Spoilers below...
Took out mobo, removed BIOS (aka CMOS) batt for a few mins.

I impulse-purchased one of the really cheap RGB mouse mats off of Amazon... and I actually really like it.

This Zoostorm off-the-shelf PC came in on it's last legs, but the great thing about an ATX-layout PC is that you can just infinitely replace parts with newer and better stuff.

This video is longer than I intended. And more or less the same as the previous one I did on this model of headset... but I have better lighting and sound now.

One of those rare occasions where a laptop motherboard replacement is feasible. This one went perfectly- but that makes a pleasant change.
This task is normally plagued by prohibitively expensive parts, or prohibitively unreliable second hand parts.

This was a live stream recording from a while back, BTW, which is why there's live chat involved.
I often do budget builds, so I'm always looking for Not Terrible Cheap Cases. The GameMax Expedition lacks any tempered glass (which is becoming very cheap to access these days) but makes a pretty tidy looking build for such low cost.

This ThinkPad has two batteries. You take out the external one, think its powered off, change the LCD and then the always-hot backlight rail gets shorted to ground and blows the backlight fuse because there's still power from the internal battery.

Continuing from the previous episode, we've got the critical power rails back- but we don't have a green light on our charger, which is another common symptom of liquid damage. Now we'll study the circuit that handles that green light.

Dell Inspiron with a broken power button today. Soldered the button back onto the PCB, and then did some preventative maintenance around the cooling system where an old liquid spill might cause problems down the line.
