BMW 3 Series E46 330xi - Removing & Installing CV Joint Axles - Broken Strut Screw
Complete, Quick & to the point video to remove & install your CV Joints/Axles on your BMW 3 Series E 46 2001 330xi when your Strut Screw/Bolt is Broken. It follows the BMW Service manual to a degree, but does not require you to remove the Brake Caliper or the rear control arm screws.

1-Remove BMW cap from Wheel (using knife)
2-Take off Axle Collar Nut (36mm)
3-Loosen Lug Nuts (17mm)
4-Jack up Car
5-Remove Wheel
6-Remove Plastic Splash Guards Under Car (philips screwdriver)
7- Remove Two 18mm Control Arm Screws
8-Remove 16mm Stabilizer Arm Nut
9-Remove 5mm ABS Speed Sensor Hex Nut
10-Remove 10mm Vertical Aim Sensor Nut (Xenon Lights)
11-Push Axle Out of Wheel Bearing
12-Pull CV Axle Out of Differential
-CV AXLE IS OUT-
13- Replace Axle Radial Seals (pry out & tap in)
14-Push CV Axle Back into Differential (should click) & put other end into Bearing Hub
15- Hand tighten Axle Collar Nut.
16- Put New Control Arm Screws In (44 ft lbs)
17-Put ABS Speed Sensor Back In
18-Put Stabilizer Arm Nut Back On (48 ft lbs)
19-Put Vertical Aim Sensor Bolts Back On
20- Put Plastic Splash Guards Back On
21-Put Wheel On
22- Lower Car
23- Tighten Axle Collar Nut (310 ft lb)

Tools You Will Need:
Lug Nuts: 17mm Socket
Axle Nut: 36mm Socket & BreakerBar
Splash Shield Under Car: Philips Head Screw Driver
ABS Speed Sensor: 5mm Hex Wrench
Control Arm Screws: 18mm Wrench
Stablilizer Bar Arm: 16mm Wrench T30 Torx
Vertical Aim Sensor: (if you have xenon lights) 8mm wrench 10mm Socket
Removing Axle, Locking Axle Collar Nut & Pounding out Axle: Chisel & Hammer
