Somthing seriously wrong with both these digital boards, looking through forums on TV and electronics repair, this is not uncommon on these LG Plasma displays. I did try heatsinking the main BGA chip, but I feel its already toasted.
The second one could be faulty to begin with, or just a firmware issue/mismatch. the model is the same but as you can see, the componentry is different.
With the first original board back in, thermal cycling, heat gun and freeze spray cycles do not have any obvious effect
a bit sick this week, viral infection from sunday onwards :(
Don't forget to Support the Japanese recovery effort!, The Japanese people are strong, but help from abroad will never go astray!.
Likewise avoid the media driven hysteria and show some support for the technicians working around the clock to hold the reigns of the failing nuclear reactors and keep them under control!
Fortunately the radiation escaping has been minimal and the reactor vessels are not ruptured and burning as what happened in Chernobyl.
With luck this will be nothing more than a '3 Mile Island' incident, and no lasting effects will be felt.
Not a awful lot in them without the HDD. but then it is a bare-bones game machine. not what i would call compatible to PC gaming.
I'm not a console fan if you can't already tell ;)
First off, Don't nag Photonic for more excessively crazy videos
