In this tutorial I'll show how "this" keyword in Javascript works in global scope, in regular functions, in object methods and in ES6 arrow functions ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-pE4C4cXZ8
In this React Firebase tutorial we'll build a simple CRUD application using React and Firebase.
We'll set up a firestore database with spells from D&D.
Our app will get data from the database, update records and also add and remove them.

Here I show how to test your Javascript code. We will test pure functions (they are the easiest to test, because they don't have side effects). Then we test a function with side effects and we mock a global function using Jest. And finally we test an object method. We also talk about AAA (Arrange Act Assert) pattern here.

New video about Firebase Database + React: https://youtu.be/yyo_TcZCrS4 In Javascript Promises are special sort of objects that serve as a proxy for data that is initially unknown.
The concept is not unique for Javascript, similar constructs exist in other languages as well.
They exist in Java, Python, Lisp, C++ and other languages and depending on language are known there by different names, like futures, deferreds, delays and other.
We'll learn how to create promises in javascript, how to resolve and reject promises, how to write asynchronous code using promises and how to use Promise static methods.

Today we create our react app a bit more and create a BackSide component. We use pure functional component, and return a simple button from it.

Learn how to setup basic server side rendering using ReactJS and Express.
React SSR (Server Side Rendering) is a technique when you pre-render initial state of your application on backend.
It can greatly improve user experience if used correctly.
