It doesn't get too muddy out here in the SoCal desert, so we play in the mud when we can. There's been light rain during the last 2 nights and it hasn't been hot enough for this puddle to dry up yet.
We couldn't help but laugh when my brother pulled this move. This is my 3rd brother attempting his first offroad challenge ever. We told him to drive into the hole and through it in Auto Mode and 4WD Lock. When he started slipping, he decided to take an easier path.
We made him go back and try it again in 4Low and Rock Mode to see the difference - In another video.

Nice canyon carving after the gate entrance into Bee Canyon. They recently bulldozed the first bit of the trail. This flat bit before the climb caters to recreational shooters. Check the fire danger sign at the ranger station right before the turn off into Bee Canyon for shooting availability. Low Fire Danger - Shoot all Day. High Fire Danger - Shoot until 1pm. Very High Fire Danger - No shooting. The rangers will hear the shooting and drive through the canyon.

Playing with the camcorder before we head for the trails. There was a lot of fog cover. You could barely see the mountains through the fog. By the time we got up there, the fog clear up a bit higher. We eventually drove into the fog and then up over it.

A chance to shoot the under side of the Jeep. Squeaky brakes and all. Don't know how the brakes got squeaky on the new car, but we had it in the shop for 2 weeks for some goodies to come and when we picked it up the brakes were squeaky.

We spent a 9 hour day out on Coyote Trail. It was a 2 hour drive to get to Anza Borrego State Park. We stopped by the visitor center to check trail conditions and grab a map of the area. Coyote Trail is just north of the visitor center. The stretch of Borrego Spring Road contains several metal sculptors of ancient animals in the area. Coyote Canyon ends after about 2 hours. There is a closed off fence at the end. Then you have to turn around and come back out. The fun bit can be found around the halfway point around 1 hour in. There you can find the water crossings and climbing challenges. After that, you enter the 2nd half which doesn't offer much of a drive or change in the view. We spent extra time to record and take in some sights as well. A Hyundai was able to make it through all of the water crossings, up until the last one. After the last water crossing you enter a series of climbs that will require 4WD, 4X4, and height clearances. We stopped by Carlee's, a local bar and grill, before we headed home.
