Countess Elizabeth Bathory, born in 1560 in Hungary, is infamously remembered as one of history's most brutal figures. Belonging to a powerful noble family, Bathory's life took a dark turn as she was accused of committing heinous crimes against young women. Allegedly driven by the belief that bathing in the blood of virgins would preserve her youth, Bathory, along with her accomplices, is said to have lured, imprisoned, and hurt hundreds of girls and young women in her castle. Her gruesome activities came to light in the early 17th century, leading to a scandal that horrified the nobility and commoners alike. In 1610, she was arrested and subsequently confined to a room in her own castle, where she remained until her end in 1614. This is a short trailer to my latest reaction to Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Season 1 Episode 7 'Unchained Woman' starring Jamie Lee Curtis. In one of my favourite episodes to date, Buck Rogers is posing as a prisoner named Valzhan, Buck Rogers has been taken to a penal colony on Zeta Minor where he springs a female inmate named Jen Burton (Jamie Lee Curtis). The young woman had taken the blame for crimes committed by her boyfriend, Malary Pantera, and the Earth's Directorate wants her to testify against him. However, she still loves Pantera and refuses to cooperate, and Pantera happens to have a business associate back on Earth, a Zetan diplomat whose involvement could be exposed once she testifies.
