Well, I just put my chosen gauge strings (9's) on this lovely beast and it's a lot easier to play! My fingers just don't work with 10's. It's a lot faster for me and I'm getting used to her a lot more easily now. What a great guitar! She's a great addition to my other Les Pauls - especially my 2 other Goldtops and she holds her own very well! 'Renegade' is from the 1979 Styx album 'Pieces Of Eight' and is written by Tommy Shaw. I gave it a full fret leveling, put a new GraphTech Tusq nut on it, put GraphTech 'RATIO' Locking Tuners on it, and now 'Maddie' is AWESOME! The new nut almost fully fixed the intonation problems I was having. Sure, it's not perfect. But, it's intonated! The guitar plays and feels like THE best Les Pauls I've ever played now - including the many Gibsons I've played. No, I don't care if you disagree with that. 'After The Fire' is from Roger Daltrey's 1985 album 'Under A Raging Moon' and is written by Pete Townshend. I decided to fine-tune the preset a bit because I wasn't completely happy with the sound. 1. The Ibanez pickups had too much mid-range for me with this preset. 2. I want the lead to be a little more present without so much reverb-echoing. Let me know if it sounds OK to you all!
