Recipe: 8-10 tomatoes 1 large red onion 2 jalapenos small handful cilantro salt amount equal to 5% of produce weight
Here's a really simple fermented salsa recipe! I love salsa and put it on all kinds of things. I practically live on eggs so salsa is my go to condiment.
This is a lacto fermented salsa and it doesn't require whey, although it can help speed up the fermentation.
The extra benefit of this fermented salsa is that it is fermented so it keeps longer and also has beneficial bacterial to help out you digestion! Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Introducing the shoulder crawl! This is another movement that I would consider part of the natural movement basics. I have used this guy many many times getting through tight spots. It's also handy because you can carry things on your chest while crawling.
However, the shoulder crawl is also a great movement for loosening up the shoulders and hips. The rotational pattern really gets all the musculature moving in ways we often overlook. It's great for a warm-up and functional. I love when a movement can function stack!

Hey everyone! Doctor Ben, not a real doctor here! Today I'm going to cover how having tight hips can lead to lower back pain. The body is a pretty complicated thing and one lever not able to do it's job means all the other ones have to work a little harder.
I'm going to use walking as an example. If your hip isn't able to extend far enough behind you, then either your gait changes and your don't walk correctly. Or your spine flexes to make up for the lack of flexibility in your hips.
Over time this extra spine flexing will lead to overused lower back muscles and extra wear and tear on your spine joints. You need to restore mobility and strength to your hips and retrain your body to do the movement, in this case walking, correctly.

Calorie counting is held up as the gold standard of nutrition. You can't lose weight without counting calories right? Eh, not really. Calorie counting is a useful tool but I don't recommend it to clients very often.
There are many reasons I don't. To start with, for most of human history it wasn't possible. The technique has only been available for about the last 100 years. For many people, it just doesn't fit into their lifestyle at best and at worst can lead to eating disorders and obsessive behavior.
If calorie counting is right for you, go for it. But for many, including myself it turns eating into a miserable experience and adds unneeded stress throughout the day. It is possible to fix your diet without calorie counting.

How many reps should I do? It's a question a lot of people have! The truth is it depends on your goals. Do you want build more muscle, get stronger, or have more endurance? Let's talk exercise program design!
In this video I'll talk about how many sets and reps you need to do to build muscle, get stronger, and have more endurance. There is a different rep recommendation for each goal. These recommendations don't only apply to weight training. They apply to any kind of resistance training.
How many reps to get stronger? If strength is your goal, you should be handling weights that are near you strength limit. You shouldn't be doing more than 5 reps to maximize strength gains. Ideally you should be down around 1-3 reps.
How many reps to build muscle? This is more in the medium weight range. You should be doing somewhere between 8-12 reps. This is the recommendation you see in all the bodybuilding magazines and books.
But what about how to train muscle endurance? For endurance you want to be doing over 15 reps and using short rest times between sets.

I refer to myself as a lifestyle engineer. Recently I was asked what that was. I offered a short, quick explanation. However, I felt like giving a much more in depth response to what I consider a lifestyle engineer to be! In a nut shell, a lifestyle engineer is someone who lives consciously. They challenge the conditioning we all receive growing up and decide what is best for themselves rather than just defer to the predetermined path.
To live consciously is to actively design the lifestyle you want. You examine what it is you want and why you want it. You discard the things that don’t serve your design and acquire the things that do. It requires a lot of self-examination. It often requires doing things most people aren’t doing. You have to examine your life regularly and leave things that aren’t working. The payoff for being a lifestyle engineer is a life that you designed.
