Dva JSO Mi-24V helikoptera ponovo lete? Two Serbian Mi24V Hind flying again?
The two combat Mi-24Vs, which were used by the JSO in the 1990s, do not have proper documentation, but they can be repaired and that is why they are being completed again at the parking lot of the military airport in Batajnica. These helicopters were procured during the 1990s and do not have proper documentation, so they did not go for repairs and have not been used in the Air Force and Air Defense of Serbia so far. Admittedly, they could be repaired, but no service technician would have signed if he had done so because there is no valid documentation other than the authorized manufacturer JSC Rosvertol from Russia. The overhaul will cost several million and the Ministry of Defense is reviewing the justification of allocating funds for such an endeavor. The Serbian Army has never used Mi-24 helicopters, which it inherited after the disbandment of the former JSO. The Mi-24 helicopters expired in 2010. Since there are only two helicopters, their overhaul and maintenance are not technologically and financially profitable, and from a tactical point of view, their eventual use would not represent a significant increase in combat capability, as half the squadron would be completed. Mi-35 / 35M combat helicopters.
