This was one of those - try - and try again. While I still did not get the look I was hoping for - after adding a little swiping and a little dragging with my comb tool - I was overall happy with the outcome. So - my point is - just because it does not work the way you want it to - is not always a bad thing! Thanks for watching!
Ya’ll – I LOVE swipes!! I was quite happy the way this one came out. Who does not love the coral reef? Or at least coral in a giant fish tank! With the colors I used, I mixed one part paint to two parts Floetrol – with the exception of the Arteza Pre-Mixed Pouring paint.
Here are the colors I used:
• Turquoise
• Carolina Blue
• Lake Blue
• Coral (Arteza)

So ya'll -- this is such a fun, easy way to do a pour/swipe! Who does not have paper towels? Be sure to squeeze all the excess water out - because you do want it to just be damp. Just gently lay it over your swipe area (in this case the center) - then gently pull. You don't want to pull all the paint off! However, should you pull more than you would like -- not to fear --- just add some color back - and your "swipe base" - which is what we used in the center of this one. Above all else --- HAVE FUN! I love you all --- thank you, thank you so much!
Happy pouring!

The color scheme for this painting was inspired by my patio furniture! A red background, then evergreen and teal for the leaves. There are lots of variations to play with for this technique. I do like to play with the strings!
My pouring recipe:
1 part paint to 2 parts Floetrol
I used a 16 x 20 canvas for this painting.
The strings are just cotton string purchased at Lowes or Amazon – or any hardware store.
Happy Pouring,
Kathy

Well - this was interesting to say the least! Using the balloon does indeed get you a different effect --- which is what we are always shooting for! Give this a try! The hardest part for me --- was blowing up the balloon! LOL - shorter on air these days!

By using a chain or string pull in your painting project can add so much dimension to your pouring project. I only used three colors for this painting – navy blue, laguna and silver sterling. I added one part paint and one part Liquitex Pouring Medium to each color – with the exception to the silver where I added two bottle caps of water (about ½ teaspoon) to get my pouring consistency. I then layered the three colors with the silver going in between the blue and laguna each time. I chose just a simple pour with this painting.
Most important – HAVE FUN DOING IT!
Thank you so much for watching! Happy pouring!

See how easy it is to make beautiful flowers! I used white for the background – a rather thin layer, then the flowers are purple, fuchsia, and blue. Each color was mixed with one part paint to two parts Floetrol medium. I used some regular yarn for the strings. Just some simple steps to make something look like it was hard! Hope you have fun creating your own spring flower mix!
Happy Pouring,
Kathy

I used two 8 x 10 canvases. I laid a base of white (mixed with Floetrol) on one canvas. Next I added my pattern - I chose a flower - use any pattern you desire - just make sure you have even amounts on each side. Next, lay you dry canvas over the first one. Press (smoosh) them together - but don't slide them back and forth. Once you feel the paint from the first canvas has coated the second canvas - gently slide the top canvas and separate the two. You should hope to have basically two canvases with the same image - or at least look like your image flowed nicely over to the second canvas! Have fun with this ya'll!
Happy Pouring!
