At the Movies w/ Robert: Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire
I saw Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire the other day and...I quite liked it. It's on par with Godzilla vs Kong. It improves (and falters) on things the other film didn't. It's dumb fun that's very entertaining! It's also a Kaiju character piece! It's so good!
Godzilla and the almighty Kong face a colossal threat hidden deep within the planet, challenging their very existence and the survival of the human race.
Back again with another Marvel/DC crossover, this one follows up on the last one I did. Last time I talked about Darkseid and Galactus, this time around I'm talking about the heroes they deal with! That's right! DC's premiere hero teams up with Marvel's Premiere family as I go over Superman/Fantastic Four: Infinite Destruction!
Written and Drawn by Dan Jurgens, this amazing giant sized (literally the book is huge) book has Superman receive a mysterious message seemingly from his father telling him Galactus destroyed Krypton. He goes to meet the Fantastic Four about the Devourer of Worlds when the Cyborg Superman (Himself the sole survivor of a twisted version of the four) appears before Superman is turned into Galactus newest Herald and Reed is abducted. Can the remaining members of the four work with Hank Henshaw to save Reed and Superman? Can Superman be restored? Come and find out

Concluding our review of the DC Animated shorts (So far) Ingrid & I go over Constantine: The House of Mystery and the shorts contained (No bonus shorts this time)
In the Main short, after the events of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, after Constantine had the Flash go back in time and change history, he has to pay for his actions! So the Spectre sends him to the House of Mystery...where his loved ones turn into monsters and attack him constantly. He dies horribly for who knows how long. Will he be able to escape? SHOULD he?
The Kamandi short was amazing! The animation style perfectly replicated Jack Kirby's work, and it felt like a pilot to a series as he and some Friends and enemies are put into a competition to match up to the "Great One" Greatness. Will he survive and win?
The Losers Short focuses on, well, the Losers as they go to the Dinosaur Island and put in a great final fight to stop the enemies from getting a dangerous power source! If you've seen the start of DC New Frontier it's predictable where it's going
The Blue Beetle Short was the BEST short! it perfectly replicated the old 60s superhero cartoons both with the cringe writing, cringe voice acting, and so many animation errors! it was a hoot to watch and brought this marathon to a gut busting close!
So overall this was a great marathon, the shorts really interested Ingrid in these characters she never knew much about, and they were all great stories in their own right.

We're into the final stretch of the retrospective as we go over the first of two Secret Wars Battleworlds minis related to the Marvel Zombies.
I say "Related to" because the Marvel Zombies are more of a backdrop than anything else. This mini is more about the character of Elsa Bloodstone as she and a young child trek through the dead lands, where there's whole bunch of marvel zombies, and they'd pop up and attack.
On it's own the mini is fine character piece for Elsa...that is if you know anything about her. Unfortunately as a marvel zombies work it's very lacking in that department. When we do get a zombie it's just long enough to justify this being a Marvel Zombies mini but other than that...nothing really that much here.

Ok full Disclosure, I have been a long time fan of the Carmen Sandiego franchise. I've played the games, watched the game shows, and seen the 90's Cartoon Show. So imagine my surprise and confusion when I see the trailer for the upcoming Netflix take on the character. The animation is great, the cast is good! Everything seems to add up...except for one key detail...Carmen is an ANTI-VILLAIN in this series and is going AGAINST V.I.L.E.! I mean...WTF?!?

Continuing on with my March of Deathstroke, we're gonna talk about the second arc of Tony Daniel's run. The God Killer! Slade has been tasked by Hephaestus himself to take out a powerful god before he can be released and is given the titular sword.
Unfortunately the sword speaks to Slade and tricks him to release the God instead. Now he and Wonder Woman have to team up to stop this god before it can destroy the world! With writer James Bonny this arc feels a bit tighter than the last one...but it still feels like it's stretched out to give Tony Daniel more cool stuff to draw. And near the end of the arc, Daniel's leaves and is replaced by Tyler Kirkham for the rest of the series.
This is still an intense action arc but...it's also still more of the same from the prior arc. If it wasn't for the God Killer blade returning in Wonder Woman for Year of the Villain, this entire run would have been superfluous.
That being said, it's still recommend if you want cool action and great art so check it out if you want.

Brian Michale Bendis's Unity Saga continues as too does the further ruining of Superman also continues, this time with the Evil Superman, Ultraman! Without even the remote hint of an explanation to how the Crime Syndicate is alive again, we see Jon getting inprisoned by Ultraman who taunts and abuses the poor kid. But all the while it's revealed how much of a pathetic figure the evil tyrant is. Sure Geoff John's kinda hinted that in his Justice League but this takes it to ludicrous degrees! Come see what I mean...if you dare

Continuing from my previous video, we're going to talk about the new volume of Bigfoot Bill! Can Doug keep up the quality from the first? Well...spoilers...the answer is yes!
Set immediately after the first volume, we follow Poseidon as he's making his way to the ocean, the Crypto-Guards trying to stop him, Bigfoot Bill getting roped back in as well as a dreaded secret of Agent Sharon is revealed!
And we get some revelations and questions answered! Such as what happened to the woman who helped capture Poseidon? Where are Bill's family? What is the land of Hades like? Etc etc.
The artwork is just as amazing as the first volume and Earthworm Jim! But what do you expect from Doug. Also the story and pacing is just as good too! I cannot wait for the next volume, whenever it comes out!
If there was any downside, it's that if you only have the original version of the first volume, and didn't have the making of book, you are going to be left completely and utterly confused on many aspects of this book.
Other than that, I won't say that it surpassed the first but it definitely kept the quality going.
I also discuss the Earthworm Jim 2 Fight the Fish preview comic as well! Enjoy thy as well.
So yeah, if Doug ever puts it out for people to buy their own copies, I cannot recommend this book enough!
