A terrifying video has recently gone viral on social media, showing a barrage of thermobaric rockets fired from massive TOS-1A launchers descending on Ukrainian positions. The TOS-1A is a thermobaric warhead-firing Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) from the Soviet era. In the 1980s, the surface-to-surface missile was developed to attack fortified positions and destroy light armored vehicles. The system is made up of three parts. The first is the BM-1 combat vehicle, which is a modified T-71A tank chassis with a rotating rocket launcher on top. It has a total of 24 unguided thermobaric rockets that can be fired in as little as 12 seconds.
