Dr. Drew Weissman, M.D., Ph.D., ( https://www.med.upenn.edu/apps/faculty/index.php/g275/p20322 ) is a 2023 Nobel Laureate in Medicine ( https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/medicine/2023/summary/ ), Roberts Family Professor in Vaccine Research and Director of the Penn Institute for RNA Innovation ( https://rnainnovation.med.upenn.edu/ ). Dr. Weissman is a physician-scientist and pioneer in the science of immunology, with major contributions to the field. On this episode of Progress, Potential, and Possibilities, we are joined by Moisés Fuentes Rubio, Mexican pro boxer, WBO minimum weight title (2011 to 2013), WBO interim junior flyweight title (2013 to 2014), and who is currently making his professional comeback. English Translation of Mr. Fuentes Rubio responses below: Moisés Fuentes: I’m Moisés Fuentes, born in Mexico City in September 20th 1987, son of Heriberto Fuentes, Martha Rubio just regular people. I started in boxing because one day on TV they were broadcasting a fight between Marco Antonio Barrera vs Prince Naseem Hamed. I fell in love with boxing and asked my dad about that sport. Why are they punching each other? The one that receives less punches win. In that way my father explained to me what it was. He didn’t know that much either. Since that day I wanted to be a boxer. My dad was a taxi driver in Mexico City. One day Manuel Martínez takes my dad´s taxi cab in the Azcapotzalco area, he was going to the Victoria de las Democracias sport center. He was a boxing trainer. The following day my day told me what happened, I decided to go to that sport center and start training with a head full of dreams. Moisés Fuentes: You have to prepare for championship fight for a minimum of 50-60 days, being in sparring training every day. A sparing session consists of offensive and defensive training with two or three different sparring partners. I’ve had two or three rivals in one day to do the sparring training. You get cumulative injuries; they punch you in the head and all over your body multiple times. This daily workout at the gym can really wear you down. Having to fight for the world title is actually not the hardest part; nobody can tell me that. The hardest has been long distance traveling, to Japan, a 16-hour flight, or to travel to the Philippines, so your body is already very tired. Afterwards, fighting a 12 round match for the world title, versus the most powerful rival in the category, is one of the hardest things. What consequences I have received from the punches? Fortunately, I don’t have many. An injury in the eyebrow, a nose bleed from the fights. In comparison with other teammates or friends I’m in an optimal condition. There are a lot of people that don’t care of themselves. They don’t eat well, don’t train well; there is where your body takes the toll. In the moment when I feel that I’m injured or that I can´t anymore, I will quit fighting. I have been hurt by the punches, in the last fight with Román "Chocolatito" González he punched me very hard. I felt his powerful punches, he is a very gifted fighter. I really suffered that fight, from the first to the fifth round he really punched me very hard. Until now I don´t have injury or complication due to the fights. Moisés Fuentes: Since I have been using Bioquantine, it is not that I automatically feel stronger; the main difference is endurance. I feel as a normal human being, I have more endurance, have more stamina. In the past I used products that were not of much worth. They had side effects like I couldn’t sleep, headaches, joint pain. But now that I use Bioquantine, I’m a “Superman”, strong and powerful. The difference is that when you have to rest you really rest. When you have to have a tough training session, you can train without pain; without a hangover. I’m waiting for the real test; I´m going to come back. You rightly said Dr. Osorio, Mike Tyson being more than fifty years old, and a lot of other fighters want to come back. If I am only thirty-two years old why don´t come back? I’m coming back from a really tough fight that I lost, and I would really like to have known you back then so I would have been physically prepared; I would have been in my best. Such is life, but now I want to make my premiere with Bioquantine and Regenerage behind me. In the gym, I have been feeling really powerful, like a bull. I can´t wait to the fight and sees how effective are my punches in a real fight. Moisés Fuentes: At first I really doubted about these technologies. I didn´t know about Regenerage or Bioquantine. I started to do a little research about their benefits and how they were going to improve my condition in this sport. I really believe that I will become a super athlete.
