It's no secret that lately Fezzy and I have struggled to keep up with our YouTube situation these past few months. Ever since Hytale's delay was announced in July we lost pretty much all morale and have been desperately trying to hold on just a little bit longer and continue uploading. Considering neither of us have been very happy with how our lives have been these past few years (sitting at a desk all day), we haven't had much of a chance to breathe. YouTube is a job where you are "always on", there is no separation between work and the rest of life. Every day there are constant reminders of "Channel Momentum", how well our videos are doing relative to the previous ones, whether or not SEO needs to be adjusted, fearing that the channel is going to die, etc... (For all of 2020 I literally thought missing 1 upload day would mark the beginning of the end, and the channel would start dying) Uploading every day for 2 years, especially when pigeonholed as Hypixel SkyBlock creators, has been indescribably stressful. Frankly, the game just doesn't have enough to do to maintain that ridiculous upload schedule, yet we've grown afraid that if we try anything else the channel will die. This past week as a last ditch effort to keep uploading we branched out to SkyBlock Isles, a fun game but ultimately something that if we continue perusing it in videos the channel will die (went from 100k views a video to 20k views a video in 1 week). That being said, we have a ton of ideas for new content that will reach a broader audience and will probably perform very well but the content takes a lot of effort to make, something which we are not capable of right now due to burnout. As of today we are taking a month off from making videos. I will probably make the occasional appearance on stream or make a tweet every now and again, but for the most part I am disconnecting until I am settled in at the new house in Florida three weeks from now. I hope you all understand, and will still remember that we exist by the time we make a return. You all changed my life in ways I cannot describe, and I hope this isn't the end. Can't wait to make content that I enjoy for you all again. ?
