【4K】? Exploring an old Stone Quarry in Bad Vöslau Austria
Exploring an old stone quarry in the Austrian city of Bad Vöslau on a beautiful day in early spring. This large old stone quarry has been used as a geological show object for some time. There are several tunnels in this area, some of which are accessible. The rock consists of dolomite, lime slate and dolomite breccia. Access to the slopes is prohibited as the rock is very fragile and therefore life-threatening!
The view from the old stone quarry is very nice. After enjoying the panoramic view, I make may way down to one of the abandoned tunnels of the quarry. Some of these man made caves can be accessed. Going inside is a little bit creepy and I didn't want to stay inside for too long as I didn't fully trust that the rock was stable.
This old stone quarry and the surrounding area are a favorite spot for the locals for hiking. Located right next to Bad Vöslau a lot of people come here. A circular hiking route leads around the quarry. As you can see in the video, the cliffs are very tall and not secured. That's why hikers need to be very careful when exploring the area. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLZPV_U2qt8
In this video I am walking to Lake Neusiedl in Austria. The country's largest lake is very flat (2 meters maximum depth) and surrounded by a reed belt that is several kilometers wide.
On this day the weather was beautiful and I enjoyed my walk through through the reed belt until I finally reached the water. When walking towards the lake you can't hear any noises. It's almost completely silent. Inly occasionally you can hear the wind, some birds or frogs. It was a very calm and relaxing experience.
I recorded only the last few minutes of my walk but I still wanted to share this video with you.

In this video walk, I am exploring the impressive Lichtenfels castle ruins at lake Ottenstein in Austria. Lichtenfels castle was built in the 12th century but it gradually decayed after the 17th century. Picturesquely located at the lake it is a quite famous tourist spot in the area.
I'm sorry for the wind noises at the beginning of the video. But once I get off the bridge it becomes much better. The castle ruins are quite overgrown so it's fun climbing around and exploring its secrets.

Hiking to marvellous Göttweig Abbey in Austria on a sunny day in summer. This is a monastery near the city of Krems an der Donau. It is beautifully located on top of a small mountain.
In this video, I walk up the hill starting at the town of Furth which lies at the mountains bottom. My way leads me through a nice forest. Parts of the path were quite overgrown so it was a little bit of an adventure for me. At the top of the hill I enjoy the view of the valley below me.
Next, I walk into the monastery where I check out the impressive baroque church of Göttweig Abbey. The Abbey was founded some time before 1072 and has a long history. It's vine yards also produce a fantastic white wine.

Taking a walk in the late afternoon in summer when the wine yards above the city are flooded by sunlight.
For this walk I take some backstreets and secret passages in the neighborhood. My way leads me to a nearby hill which is a favorite destination for the locals. However, on this sunday afternoon I don't meet any other people.
Following the road upwards and walking towards the light felt a little bit like going towards heaven. Unfortunately, due to the light the camera had some problems with the auto focus.. The road cuts into the soft soil and there are a lot of small holes and caves on both sides of the street.
After following the way to the top of the mountain I enjoy the view of the city and explore some of the vine yards. This is a famous wine growing area that produces some of the best white wines in Austria.

Dobra Stronghold is an abandoned castle ruin in Austria, located at a beautiful lake. Built in the 12th century, its main purpose was to defend the area from invading enemies. The castle was abandoned in the 19th century and is now open for visitors.
I was able to explore most parts of this abandoned castle ruin, except for the keep for which you need a key that you can get at a nearby campground. It's safe to walk around due to the efforts of a dedicated group of locals who repair and maintain the castle's remains.
