The outgoing Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chair Jay Clayton has said that more regulation is coming in the cryptocurrency space as he prepares to step down from his role. Clayton, who is due to leave his post at the end of the year after four years in charge of the SEC, made the comments to CNBC’s Squawk Box show yesterday, where he also said that Bitcoin represents “stored value” and that its popularity has been driven by inefficiencies in the traditional payments system.

Visa CEO Al Kelly has told a Fortune podcast that the company is actively working on Bitcoin integration. Having seen Mastercard take steps to integrate cryptocurrencies into its platform Visa is clearly trying to do something similar to ensure it doesn’t get left behind, and Kelly explained to Fortune’s Leadership Next podcast just how the payments giant was planning to close the gap.

The perpetrators of last week’s KuCoin hack have been identified, according to KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu. Lyu took to Twitter over the weekend to give an update on the hack, which saw over $200 million in a variety of tokens stolen from the cryptocurrency exchange, stating that $204 million worth of assets was now back in their control and that law enforcement authorities were “officially involved”.

A member of the Cali cartel who is thought to have laundered €6 million ($7 million) worth of drug money through cryptocurrencies has been arrested in Malaga, representing a blow to those who argue that cryptocurrency use among the criminal class is dropping. The as yet unnamed individual was arrested in the Spanish city after being implicated in “large scale money laundering” on behalf of the cartel, while at the same time agents in the Netherlands seized cryptocurrency, computers, and crypto wallets belonging to him.

The Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance (COPA), a newly formed organization that “seeks to remove patents and litigation as a barrier to growth in crypto”, has demanded proof from Craig Wright that he is Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto before founding member Square will countenance removing the Bitcoin whitepaper from its website. The letter, sent from COPA to Wright’s lawyers, asks nine questions it says Wright must answer if he wants to assert what he says is his copyright over the Bitcoin whitepaper, an assertion that elicited a strong response from the cryptocurrency community two weeks ago and saw the Bitcoin whitepaper uploaded on several sites, including FullyCrypto.
