Why is raw milk still illegal? They are legalizing drugs, but not raw milk? Why? Well this brainwash goes all the way back to in the 1800's when dairy farmers had poor sanitary conditions and would have milk with fecal matter and bad bacteria and people actually could get sick from that. Then came along Louis Pasteur, the scientist that invented pasteurization. Through his research he determined that things like beer, wine and milk spoiled because of micro-organism growth. He proposed heating the liquids between 60-100 celsius to kill most bacteria and molds. He patented this process to fight the "disease" of wine, in 1865. They then applied this same process to milk and beer, and that's where pasteurization came in. Drink contamination led him to believe that micro-organisms are the cause of disease in animals and humans, and he proposed preventing the entry of all micro-organisms into the body. Today we know how ridiculous and absurd his research conclusions are, and that there is much beneficial bacteria lost in the pasteurization of foods, which in itself actually can lead to disease. For example there are enzymes found naturally in milk that help digest lactose, when pasteurized, are not found. Making lactose harder to digest. Through simple sanitation the problems from the 1800's dairy farmers were corrected. Also Human Mothers milk is raw milk, we don't pasteurize that. So how come that doesn't make us sick ? Because raw milk can't make you sick. Breast milk, for example, contains 700 different types of bacteria and 2,500 proteins and pathogens that help build babies immune system. Aajonus vonderplanitz, founder of RTCHF Right to Choose Healthy Foods- a non profit-, pushed for raw milk legalization and in 2001 was successful in Los Angeles County California, ending their ban on raw milk's retail sale.
