We are heading out of Kendal on the A6. At [1:32] there's a mobile speed trap. I hope the occupants of the "road safety van" are freezing cold!.
We reach the edge of town towards the end of the footage -a frisson as we see the ice warning signs. annoyingly there is a Peugeot estate in the way.

It's dull dull dull as we cross the Manchester Ship Canal and take the right hander through the Eccles Interchange.

A 1970 Rover 3.5 Litre Saloon, DPK797J shows that she has no difficulty keeping up with modern traffic as she completes an anticlockwise lap of Manchester's M60 orbital motorway with ease.
This footage starts at the Shell on the A57 Regent Road - heading first out on the M602 then back into central Manchester along the same road.
This section is from Junction 15, the start of the Worsley Braided Interchange to J2 of the M602. We pass J14, the exit for the A580 East Lancs Road. We take a left-hander at the Eccles Interchange to head back into Manchester along the M602.
The sound was recorded with the built-in microphone - even by modern standards the P5b is a quiet car.

We're descending now and must treat the road with even more respect. The weather is good by Shap standards but the drizzle and the permanent ice warning signs are a reminder to take it easy. The M6 is some distance to our right as we pass a hotel and Christmas tree farm as we near junction 39 of the motorway.

Rare because it shows Mad Lil being overtaken - this is because being a polite motor car, she keeps to posted speed limits around town.
Heading from Moss Lane up Davyhulme Road East to pick up the main road into Manchester, the A56 Chester Road.
This has been the main route into Manchester since Roman times, the upstart A6 a mere side road. The modern A56 leaves Chester Road to follow Bridgewater Way. We rejoin Chester Road at the end of the modern bypass, choosing to head towards Hulme instead of the City Centre,
Those pesky temporary traffic lights must have got sick of the wilds of Shap Fell and the A6 because they turned up on my doorstep on City Road!
