Six Palestinians injured after clashes with Israeli forces
Israeli troops attacked Palestinians in Gaza again, as their campaign of violence shows no sign of abating. The violence occurred east of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Six Palestinians were injured by the Israeli army in eastern Gaza after participating in demonstrations near the fence that separates Gaza from Israeli-occupied territories. The protests were organized to denounce Israeli settlers' incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that injuries varied in severity and were inflicted during the crowd's dispersal by Israeli forces. Medical sources noted that the injuries included direct hits from rubber bullets and gas canisters. Cases of suffocation were also reported. Among the injured were two Palestinian journalists who were directly hit by gas canisters; the extent of their injuries is yet to be determined. Stand for justice and human rights.
Hundreds of workers took to the streets across Germany to mark International Worker's Day on May Day.
Clashes with the police erupted as police in Berlin banned demonstrators from wearing symbols linked to The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) or Hamas.
The rally in the capital marked the 1987 riot in the Kreuzberg district when police broke up a largely peaceful rally with tear gas and batons.

Turkish police detained several left wing protesters as they attempted to reach Istanbul's Taksim Square for May Day protests.
Video footage shows police attacking protesters before taking them into custody. International Workers Day events in Taksim Square have been banned for several years.
Local media reported that the Istanbul Police Department had implemented strict security measures, with barriers erected and police vehicles stationed at routes leading to the square.
Taksim Square holds great symbolic significance for the left in Turkey. On May 1 1977 the state perpetrated the Taskim Square massacre, killing between 34 and 42 people.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of central Hiroshima against the 2023 G7 summit hosted in Japan. The activists carried signs with slogans such as "No G7 imperialist summit!" or "No to Japan-US military alliance."
This year's G7 centered around the issues of arming Ukraine against Russia and "upholding the international order." US President Joe Biden cleared the way during the summit for F-16 fighter jet deliveries to Kiev one year ago after calling the delivery of fighter jets a possible escalation into World War III.
Furthermore, the G7 countries announced tightened sanctions against Russia and a tougher policy toward China. Crucial humanitarian issues such as hunger and climate change were barely discussed. The requested $55 billion UN budget for humanitarian crises was not even met halfway.
Several militant but also peaceful protests and an even larger police presence accompanied the meeting of Western economic powerhouses and Japan from May 19 to May 21. Clashes erupted between protesters and police forces multiple times with local media reporting several arrests.

Thousands protested in Mexico City in solidarity with the leftist Zapatista revolutionary movement and its armed wing, the EZLN, against paramilitary attacks on Zapatista-run communities in Chiapas, in the south of the country. In the face of recent armed attacks against the EZLN by paramilitaries, the movement warns that "Chiapas is on the brink of civil war" in a public statement.
Under the leadership of current President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, also known as Amlo, Mexico has experienced a surge in homicides, reaching a new record high. Amlo acknowledged this fact during a recent press conference in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. However, Amlo stressed that this record was due to the problems left to him by previous right-wing governments.

“They shoot like that for pleasure.” — Two Indigenous Kanak activists from New Caledonia share their violent encounter with white supremacist militias that have been running rampant across New Caledonia. Pro-independence activists have been protesting against tightening French rule in the Pacific archipelago for weeks now.
There have been numerous reports of heavily armed “Kanak-hunting” militias harassing Kanaks and other Indigenous Polynesians. It is alleged that they are shooting live ammunition at protesters and Indigenous communities across the archipelago.
At least seven people have already been killed in the shootings, including four Indigenous Kanaks.

Protesters pelted stones at Lebanon's Central Bank yesterday as the lira plunged to a new low of 56,000 to the U.S. dollar. In 2019, Lebanese citizens lost access to their savings as banks froze most accounts amidst one of the world's worst economic crises. The move by banks sparked a string of bank hold-ups by citizens trying to recover their seized finances.
The protesters burnt pictures of Lebanon's Central Bank governor Riad Salameh who has been plundering the state's finances, further worsening the crisis which has already been exacerbated by suffocating U.S. sanctions aimed to disarm resistance group H*zbollah, as well as soaring prices on the global commodities markets.
