EDIT: I HATE THESE BULBS! don't listen to me. They are terrible. If you view a decently designed bulb under the same conditions, there is constant light. This bulb make everything terrible. Had them for many months, and totally did a 180 on them. They suck really really bad. Also two died quickly.
This bulb is pretty. It's awesome. It's pretty, awesome. It provides good light.
Runs cool, has gas that disperses heat. Compared to a normal bulb, in warm white, you pretty much get a bright and functional bulb, that acts like a bulb. I also appreciate the lack of plastic, and playskool landfill material. It's light, and I think it's a winner.
I would recommend these over other led bulbs for their functionality, beauty, and familiarity. ~$7.95 for the 8 watt, it genuinely replaced a 60watt bulb both in function and familiarity. It's dimmable ('ive not test), and functions as a bulb should with the exception of imperceivable flicker which you always get without a high performance driver, or direct dc. I've not taken one apart to see what drives it, but it must be really compact. Bo big caps to remove ripple. Still I really like it. Oh here ya go.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gcYAFPxeugThe video is a 400fps turn off and startup video. Light provided in my bathroom is crisp and bright, and not "white". Though I am often annoyed with the performance of led bulbs, their failure rates, and material use, I think this is bulb is pretty neat. When it fails I'll just harvest the un-failed leds, and throw away mostly glass and metal.
